As for the claim the DUmmies make that Nugent shit himself to avoid the draft,

When I am doing serious journalism I always quote High Times, and if I cannot find what I need there, Mad Magazine is always a good go to resource.

Even if the story were true and not some BS made up by Nugent to put one over on the High Times space cadets, how many people are the same person they were 46 years prior? I know I'm not the hippified slacker asshole I was at 18 years of age. There is such a thing as redemption.

Besides, how did draft dodgers suddenly become such persona non grata at DU? In any other circumstances they are worshipped without question.
