And these idiots wonder why companies are closing their doors and moving to other countries or right-to-work states?  Or the union workers blame management?  Give me a break.
Everything I have learned about running a successful business is the need to continuously improve your systems and efficiencies. Sending 2 delivery trucks to a store when one will do the job makes no sense. Union members need to understand that corporations exist to make a profit for their share holders, not to provide easy money jobs to lazy workers.

While that may sound good it's not a feasible tactic.  Would create shipping & distribution problems raising prices because contrary to popular belief Twinkies don't last forever. They have a shelf life of approximately two weeks.

They can save in taxes enough to pay the trucking. Also, consider what they'll save in everything a Union would demand they pay? If I can load a truckload full of twinkies the cost per twinkie won't be unsurmountable, unless people just won't pay for twinkies anymore anyway. The commercial property would be a great deal cheaper. The state government would throw out one of those low interest loans and property tax exemptions...etc. etc.

I used to think; "why would unions risk destroying their jobs"........silly me, because they don't really want to work.......they can collect unemployment and/or welfare.

.

The Unions have to have a purpose in order to accept those 'dues'. They create a problem, they convince every member of the problem, and they go into motion. Without strife between labor and management they cease to be relevant. I'm saying it's the MO of a Union and less the fault of their misguided members. How many stories have you heard about these THUGS that came to negotiate with so and so in upper management of some company? I've heard plenty and it makes the hair stand up on your head.

-Union rules forced Hostess to run separate truck fleets for delivering bread vs. sweets. A sweets driver, serving a 7-11 store, was forbidden from restocking shelves with breads already delivered and waiting in the back—he had to call for a bread driver to swing by and handle.

...and people used to think the "non-union changing a light bulb" thing was funny (which still is).

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.
