There is only one class of CVN still in service in the US Navy: the CVN-68 'Nimitz' class. USS Enterprise has been decommissioned, as have the last of the oil-fired carriers (IIRC).
Well done. Are you sure you didn't look it up ?
And the next generation...starting with CVN-78 USS Gerald R. Ford will be what's called the CVN-21 class.ETA: and it looks like there will be a USS John F. Kennedy and USS Enterprise on the high seas again as well.

My neighbor, a little ways up the road from me, was a member of the shake down crew and first crew to serve on the USS Forestal. He's in his 70's now and dying of lung cancer. What do you call the first crew, "Plank members" or something?
Yep Plank Owners. I will never forget the Damage Control guy I met who was just coming off the Firestall. He said he was one busy buckaroo on that boat fighting fires. His best story was not being able to find a chow hall when he first reported until he spotted a rather rotund guy and followed him. The year was 1970 and we were both waiting for orders in Newport, RI.
Not just yet. She is out on her last deployment right now. But she will be when they get home.
Aka Forrest Fire. Aka FID (first in defense).
