'Go for it,' Obama tells GOP on health repeal
« on: March 26, 2010, 02:27:21 AM »
Quote

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - President Barack Obama mocked Republicans' campaign to repeal his new health care law, saying they should "Go for it" and see how well they fare with voters.

"Be my guest," Obama said Thursday in the first of many appearances around the country to sell the overhaul to voters before the fall congressional elections. "If they want to have that fight, we can have it. Because I don't believe the American people are going to put the insurance industry back in the driver's seat."

The White House suggests it has the upper hand against Republicans politically, arguing the GOP risks a voter backlash because a repeal would take away from small businesses and individuals the benefits provided to them immediately under the new law.

"We're not going back," Obama said.

Bite me Obama.  The only 'benefit' you've provided for my business is higher taxes.  :censored:

I can't remember another prez who's been less "presidential". Hey, Mr. "I Won", do not presume to speak for the "American people" as you have no clue who they really are.  Besides, isn't all of this really about what YOU want?

I heard some sound bites from this "campaign rally" this morning and damn if he didn't sound like he just kicked off his 2012 campaign.

Mocking his critics, about half the voting population, is the dumbest strategy I've ever heard.  Especially when he was using his Rev Wright voice.  Ugh.

Dear Obama,

I love how you take off that jacket and roll up your sleeves, which I've no doubt you've done on advice of your political handlers, to appear more "folksy."  Now how you manage to pull that off while at the same time jetting 12 hours on AF1 to your $4k per day Hawaiian Christmas spot, or your $20k per week summer vacation spot on Martha's Vineyard, along with the side trips to Amsterdam and elsewhere, while hosting innumerable cocktail parties and eating Waygu beef is beyond me.

Well, actually, it's not beyond me.  Fact is, you're not pulling it off.  People are finally seeing through the bullshit smokescreen, and they're not liking what they're seeing.  You need to remember the old adage of, "Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make proud."  And pride--more accurately, hubris, or arrogance--is something in which you'll never lack.

Yeah, you're the president.  Yeah, there are certain perks that come with the job, and it is a stressful job.  We get it.  But we also expect a certain level of discourse from someone who has the job.  There's a reason Reagan never took off his suit jacket while in the Oval Office.  Seems that between the years 1981-89, whenever he wasn't in Santa Barbara, he was, well, PRESIDENTIAL.  He never forgot he represented the PEOPLE of the United States.  You apparently have yet to grasp this fact.

In short, Barack, grow up.  We're tired of the schoolyard bully bullshit.  Quit acting like you're still on the campaign trail.  We get it.  You won.  Now start ACTING like it.  Start LEADING.  Start fixing problems, not blame.  Because pretty soon, you and your party are going to face a mandate on your acts.  Think of it as that first quarter report card.  It's not going to be pretty, let me assure you.  But a REAL leader, or someone with accountability, will learn from the drubbing that you're about to take, change your habits, and salvage something reasonable as a final "grade".  Otherwise, you'll have a legacy, alright.  Just not the one you were hoping for.

Sincerely,
The American Public

Obama is very arrogant.

Is he sure he wants us to 'bring it'?

I honestly believe that he thinks we have neither the power nor the will.

Oh, he's in for a very unpleasant surprise.

OMG its a picture of a GUN!!! Look at all the violence!!!

I actually like the graphic.. can I steal it?

I need to get one of an M16 shooting off with no one holding it.  I mean with weapons being so evil and all and people never being responsible for anything.  I mean cars should have been banned a long time ago, all the death and destruction cars cause with the poor innocent people inside.

I could be wrong but, I do not recall a President ever taking cheap shots at the opposition party while signing a bill, or performing the SOTU address.

How we went from Ronald Reagan to this embarrassment in just 22 years amazes me.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
