I said "tough shit" to a neighbor today.
All my neighbors are on medicare or advantage plan. It's a senior village. One of the most outspoken of the MAGA supporters who lives here was crabbing at me this morning about the cost of her insulin. She filled Dec 27 - $10. Yesterday? $782.

TOUGH SHIT popped out before I could stop it. Loud enough for everyone to hear.

We had a short conversation after that. I did back track it a little because I really wanted her to see that her selfishness hurt her too. She got what she asked for. "Illegals" and "welfare queens" in need of insulin got cut off from a fair price. If no one benefits, that includes her.

I'm telling you, the MAGA geezers around here are not happy. Prices are going up, not down. The noise about invading Canada has them all upset. Firing inspectors and stopping agencies from informing us about health and safety issues has everyone on edge around here.

They got what they asked for. TOUGH SHIT.

They are trying to one-up each other with these bounces. 🙄

Absurd fiction. $78 might be plausible, but $782 not … even though it would still be Bidenflation, since Trump has been in office for too brief a time to affect medication prices,

Biden’s bigger health care initiatives, such as a $35 monthly cap on insulin, a $2,000 annual out-of-pocket cap on prescription drugs and Medicare’s negotiating drug pricing provision weren’t affected by Trump’s executive actions Monday.

No, the neighbor is a fictional character.  Kentucky Woman is the liar.

Replies 8 and 10 also pointed out the $35 cap. Maybe KW lied totally, or maybe she lied by leaving out relevant information.

I have an interesting story about the price of insulin thing that the dems are always bragging about. I haven’t mentioned it before because it’s from an article that I read and I never researched to see if the article was accurate. I can’t even remember where I read the article.

Anyway, this is what I remember and I’m old so my memory can be faulty at times. The bill that the dems are so proud of did NOT lower the price of insulin. It only lowered the out of pocket cost that the individual on Medicare or Medicaid or whatever had to pay. The rest of the bill is footed by the American tax payers. In other words, the companies are still getting their money and all of us who pay taxes are now paying for insulin.

According to the article, the republicans also had a bill. I guess the GOP came up with their bill before the dems came up with theirs. In the GOP bill, the drug companies had to sell insulin in America for the same low price that they sell it for in other countries. With the GOP bill, which the democrats either defeated or wouldn’t bring to a vote, the seniors who need insulin would pay a low price just like in the dem bill; however, the American public wouldn’t be stuck paying for the remainder of the insulin cost.

Now, I’m sure all of the above could have been written better, but it’s getting late. If anyone here happens to have any info that shoots down or supports what I remember reading, I’d love for you to share it.

What really happened was she looked out her window, saw an elderly person who looked reasonably happy, and made up a story that gave her power. All DUmmies are pathetic losers...the lying is just part of it.

That thread is chock full of misinformation.  A DUmmie makes something up, and the other DUmmies take it as gospel, because it came from the hallowed, sainted DU.  They're now pig ignorant because they won't get out of the bubble to even research the $35 cap.

On the plus side, if a DUmmy needs insulin and now fears the cost, maybe they'll just lay down and die.

72. Yes. An executive order Day One as promised

He kept that one (and the one about being a dictator)

He’s reneging on the other “good” day one promises like “no more inflation!” and “cheap gas and groceries!” and “ending all wars!” etc etc etc

No, Donald Trump did not repeal the insulin cap. In fact, the insulin price cap on Medicare beneficiaries was part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden. This law set a $35 per month cap on insulin for Medicare recipients, aiming to lower the cost of the medication for seniors.

There was some political debate over insulin pricing during Trump’s presidency, but the policy changes related to insulin pricing, such as the cap for Medicare, were established after he left office.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
