Word is that SEIU is bringing truckloads of key rings and keys to Denver to distribute to <..> conventioneers, in accord with the suggestion we’ve all been hearing that they come equipped to honor the (Who Knows How Many) Homes of Young Johnny and the Lovely Cindy McCranky. But a poster on one of my listservs came up with a killer idea to take it one step further: Every time McCranky’s name is mentioned, everyone in the auditorium jangles their keys!

It would make great TV, so the media would love it. The public would love it, and be reminded of who the McCrankys are. And Young Johnny and his cohorts would go nuts– a bit of payback for 2004, when the GOP cleaned the Dems’ oh-so-respectable convention clock.

I say they should go for it.

Doing shit as mind numbingly stupid as this, helps to show undecided voters, and those people that aren't completely over-the-edge-batshit-insane exactly how the liberal mindset operated, thus helps the right, win elections.

My favorite is when someone dies now they have a "Virtual Moment Of Silence" thread where they all make empty posts.

And ages ago they decided to send pictures of their hands to show support for some people going through some kinda trouble.

How about passing out keys and a pair of dirty gloves?  Each time Obama Hussein's name is mentioned they can shift the keys from one hand to the other.

Yes, it's about houses and McCain's constant jabbing at Obama as an elitist. There is nothing Rovian or sinister about that.

People are throwing around the "childish" word as if to somehow shame others for encouraging this, suggesting instead Monopoly piece earrings or bracelets. Yeah, that's more mature.

This is a political campaign, and there are gesture like these used all the time.

The public has already heard about the houses, they have no clue about key-related PTSD.

This entire debate is about house keys and the likelihood that the GOP would spin it as a reference to McCain's PTSD. This is what the GOP is willing to do to win: expose McCain as a person traumatized by keys?

The purpose of the keys is to focus on McCain seven to 12 homes, not attack McCain's alleged PTSD (Does anyone have definitive evidence that this is true?)

The hyperventilating that the media is going to make McCain's alleged PTSD an issue by conflating the two thereby destroying Obama's campaign and embarrassing Democrats is complete BS.

The entire cast of Swift Lying purple band-aid promoters are either working for or donating to McCain's campaign. Some are probably the same ones who swiftboated Max Cleland.

McCain doesn't care.

McCain has already been called out by Vets for exploiting his status as a former POW: here and here.

McCain stands by and allows Vets to be attacked, and is linked to a group that has attacked Vets.

I find the hyperbole surrounding the keys to be ridiculous.

     I'm waiting for someone to realize that adults jangling sets of toy keys makes them look even more retarded than they actually are. Can you imagine Joe Sixpack and Sally Housecoat flipping on the TV, waiting to be inspired by the Democrats, and all they get is Nancy Pelosi shaking a set of plastic keys like a toddler about to shit its diaper?

     Not to mention that the average American, when told that someone has more than one house, is more likely to think, "Wow, cool," than they are to drag out a baby toy so they can voice their disapproval.

The only time I ever see people taking out their keys and jingling them is at sporting events when they're trying to make noise to confuse the other team.  Of course, the other team is always in the stadium/arena when they do it.  Now you're going to have a bunch of nitwits jingling their keys at a place where there only ones there is their own team.  I say go for it.

Apparently key jangling triggers a PTSD response in McCain - gives him POW flashbacks. This could be seen as using this known weakness in McCain to psychologically unnerve him, and would be seen by other solders, especially POWs, as a strike of the lowest order.

Isn't McCain one of those vets they're supposed to care so much about? Just how is it these idiots KNOW the cross story if fake? Someone do a Tarot card reading or channel the spirit of a dead guard? I know they're too stupid to understand dissing McCain's stay in the Hanoi Hilton will pretty much guarantee they lose but how can they possibly not have even the slightest inkling McCain is a highly respected vet? Even if I don't agree with much of what he does in the senate I am in awe of what he survived while serving his country.

Besides, if I see a bunch of DUmmies shaking a bunch of baby keys (ironically said keys are also my bunnies favorite toy) the first thought that will come to my mind will be how utterly childish and inexperienced their candidate is. Being all show and no substance is the reason they've ended up with an empty suit as a candidate.
