Title: Moonbat Business
Post by: Karin on June 12, 2014, 02:58:08 PM
I ran across this in one of those regional, obscure little business newspapers.  I immediately thought of Judy's pie and jam shop.

Quote
A company called ThankTank Creative has recently started up in Ithaca, providing business consulting, graphic design, and marketing services for socially just, environmentally conscious, and vegan companies.
"ThankTank Creative ties together my two passions:  creative communication with veganism," Eric C. Lindstrom, president and founder, said in a news release.

Through the company's GiveBack8 program, 8 percent of every project cost is donated back to a participating not-for-profit organization of the client's choosing, he said.

 :mental:

First of all, what is a vegan company?  Companies don't eat.  Does this mean every employee and officer must adhere to veganism before he would accept an assignment?  What about suppliers and customers?  Sounds like the only clients he would find acceptable would be a Communist commune.

And get a load of that 8%.  He jacks up the bill by 8%, then forces you to donate it to something on HIS approved list.

His picture accompanied the article, and he looks like something out of a DU picture thread.

Despite any similarities to the last name, he is no relative of mine. My granddad came over with his brother and settled in central Illinois and most of us have stayed around the midwest.

Vegan, gay, malnourished. Just what we need in a business leader: image without substance.

Hey all! Thanks for your comments! I hate my photo, BTW. I look constipated.

Being "vegan" is a lifestyle, not a diet (being vegetarian is a diet). So, a "vegan business" is one that is owned by vegans. The receptions thus far to ThankTank Creative has been tremendous. I have gotten phone calls from people thanking me for being an ethical vegan; knowing we are on the same page ethically. Also, being vegan is not political in any way shape or form and I know of numerous conservative Republican vegans.  You can actually read a lot about this from this link: http://www.vegan-conservatives.org

In regard to our 8% GiveBack program, we are very proud to have partnered with such a distinguished lineup of organizations committed to making the planet a better place to live (as well as having genuine concern for human health). As a service agency, we post our rates and bill our clients either per project or on retainer and I personally send a check into these organizations on behalf of the company we are working with. Of course, they could choose to take 8% off their invoice but we are trying to tie together a strong community of support.

If you're interested, I also have a blog at www.MeatyVegan.com where I asked for the Conservative Vegans to be heard ... and were they EVER. The direct link to this blog post is here [ http://wp.me/p3EQ27-w6 ] and you should read the comments! You. Are. Out. There.

Thanks for encouraging me to get another photo!

Eric

You are what you eat.  The things I eat ate vegetables, so that makes them, and then me, a vegetarian.

Don't judge me!

Hi Eric. Welcome to the board. I have a question for you. The OP starts off with this:
Quote

Could you define "socially just?"
Would you take a contract for a Tea Party Org like "True the Vote?" or does socially just mean liberals only?

Understand I tend to be cautious after years of liberals telling me I'm evil and racist merely because I am conservative-not for any actions I've done, just because I'm a member of another party.

I await your answer. Thank you

Oh my.

The thing I can't get past is this "vegan business" only as clientele.  Presumably, Eric is a liberal.  The liberals jump up and down and throw fits and file lawsuits if a bakery doesn't want to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.  How is this any different?

Thanks for your veganism! It saves more tasty, tasty bacon and boot leather for me.

So, a "vegan business" is one that is owned by vegans.

Following that line of reasoning, a business owned by a La Leche League member would be a "breastfeeding business", and a charter fishing service owned by a lesbian is a "tuna boat".

Works for me.

That reminds me--my in-laws are up (again--death in the family).  I've got a pound of Oscar's applewood-smoked bacon in the fridge . . . Saturday morning, it's gettin' cooked! :yahoo:

First off it is impossible to be a vegan. Not to eat honey because bees make it? Bees also make it possible for plants to grow! Or do you only eat greenhouse grown human pollinated vegetables? Second, if you think your protecting the environment your an idiot.  Everything man made really? No vegan's living in Alaska or they have frozen nuts!

It's different because liberals don't follow their own little rules they set on everyone else.  Do as I say, Not as I do.

Sort of like Obama with their "let them eat cake" attitude and the lecturing to be frugal while they live it up.

We have friends who shocked us when they said they were vegan. He's definitely a conservative Republican. I doubt if she is--probably the reason he has to eat vegan or get nothing to eat. We're afraid to invite them for dinner as not sure if I'll be violating their vegan policy.

They do eat seafood and said sometimes they'll eat cheese. Is anyone an expert to let us know what else is prohibited on that diet? I was kind of surprised about the fish. They do drink beer, though. I guess that passes the vegan test.  :cheersmate:

There was a couple with a young child here 30 years ago. The female was a vegan nutcase. The child was sickly looking, lethargic, not energetic at all. The male wasn't so crazy and every time he got the kid alone, which wasn't often, they would shoot by a hamburger joint and get a cheeseburger. The boy would perk up for a few days and his mom would go bananas thinking he had gotten into some sugar some how. The couple split and unfortunately, she got sole custody of the boy by lying her ass off. Damn crazy hippy bitch. :argh:

Just remembering that has ruined my day.....but thanks to senior moments, it will all be forgotten by tomorrow until I'm reminded of it again.

That's the biggest crock of shit I ever read! I had honey in my siding a few years ago! I ate it! I get raw honey from a neighbor. Ya know it has a little funk to it but I been sweetening almost everything with it for years. Had strawberries macerated in Grand Marnier and raw honey last night! Awesome!

That reminds me......I haven't bought a jar of honey in a long time.....gives me a hankering for some of the sweet stuff.

Mod to add: ...on a hot buttery biscuit made with a lot of pure lard and washed down with some cold milk.

Speaking as  a vegan - a meat loving, deer killing, leather belt and holster wearing vegan who believes bacon is God's gift to Man (and turkey bacon is from the debbil), I'll give you some advice:

Cook what you want. They can eat the things they like, or they can go hungry... leaving more for you!

OK. I'm hungry now. Thank goodness we enslaved all those animals for my dining pleasure.

Other vegans (not me, of course, since I am a  meat, leather, milk, and honey loving vegan) don't eat, wear, or use anything from animals. Seafood, cheese, and fish are verboten for them. Same with leather and insulin from horse or swine serum, if they are sincere in their beliefs. Beer is 100% vegan-cool, unless it is made with honey.

Speaking of honey beer, King Putt's royal chefs brew a honey beer at the Imperial Palace. As is typical of the First Narcissist, King Putt's Minister of Propaganda called His Eminence "the first White House brewer"; ignoring the fact that those white capitalist devils George Washington and Thomas Jefferson brewed beer, and the fact that King Putt's kitchen slaves actually do the brewing of the royal ale.
