There's some bonding going on here, but the bed better be industrial-strength, with a high load-tolerance.

13. Sorry. Spelling error destroys it.

I am getting a little sick of this ignorant land we are drifting into. I saw loosing instead of losing on the god damned TV news and the whole world seems to have forgotten the difference between break and brake almost overnight.

and I am not alone. I got an excuse, American is my fourth or fifth language...

Talking about ignorant, we really do not speak English, that be Queens English.

The cousin has a Hell of a lot more problems than just with "lose" and "loose."

She's got a whole dictionary full of problems.

You arrogant twit!  How hard is to count to four or five?  Which is it, four? or five? Write them down and count them

and I am not alone. I got again, gNads, "I have"an excuse, American is my fourth or fifth language

It is quite obvious you are not fluent in the one you use on DU, how about the others?  What is your degree of fluency?  Is it more than "I need cheetos" in the other three or four (using your proclaimed knowledge of four or five, I subtracted the DU gibberish one that you display)

She uses the terms "four or five" because Nadinese, the only language in which she is fluent, is not recognized as an actual language in some places.

I would also say she is able to use English, Spanish, Hebrew, and Interlac. I don't believe she is completely fluent in the four.

If you can't tell the difference between "lose" and "loose" (pronounced differently), how can you tell the difference between "your" and "you're", or "there", "their" and "they're"?

are still keeping the hate and derision against you alive. Why can't they move on?

There is plenty going on that is deserving of our hate and derision out there in the real world. In fact that is why this site was started in the first place.

19. Yeah but those people will attack if I post the fly flew

it is to the point we have news from San Diego, well hope CNN is covering it.

And the part that really is hard to understand is, yes, I have had a varied life experience. Yes I was a medic, yes I stood a program up, yes I did disaster relief, and I have a masters in History and these days I work as a reporter in my market, and have won awards. They doubt all that, fine... but attack me? I really do not get it. At this point I feel truly sorry for them/

Hell, one of these idiots just attacked a post from the National Weather Service, I posted in the morning, since they have tornado watches in the South. It is from the NWS, and they attack that shit. It is when you have to ask yourself what kind of sickness affects them? And I am all kinds of feeling sorry for them.

21. once again

it is not for the things that are posted

it is the attitude in how things are posted.

For example, I would be willing to bet that MANY on DU have Master's Degrees. I would even go so far as to bet many have worked in exciting fields and have received awards. Earned awards on their merits.

It is the condescending, dismissive attitude that people are bucking.

I'm guessing Polish (her parent's native language), Mexican (her native language), Yiddish, and indeterminate English.

"Mexican" is not Spanish, because it's not Castilian Spanish.

The cousin made a distinction between American English and the King's English earlier today, and I'm adding to that.

And the doctor said I would have back issues for the rest of my life. In time it might need surgery.

So do therapy, and keep from any heavy lifting.

I just got to remember to do it. When I gained a lot f weight, sde effect of Avandia, I thought it would finally need it. Lost the weight over two years, and that is that.

Say here, I met a few kids in my childhood that were born to a French and Polish family that in grade 2 could speak 3 languages French, Polish and English.   They just shifted gears effortlessly as they went from school to different grandparents homes in town.

The parents spoke English outside the home but when inside spoke the Mother Tongue of their family.

Sometime in America it became a case of low class to speak anything but English starting around the time of the great immigration in the late 1800's.

As the parents of children struggled to learn English they stopped speaking their own language at home and the kids seldom learned it. Many kids were put to work back then in the mills and sweat shops at a very early age and forced to learn English as were their parents.

American and Canadian Indians got the worse of this.   The family's had their own tribal language and all spoke English as well.

Back in the late 1920's up to the 1960's the Canadian kids that lost parents went into schools  and institution's run by the Catholic Church.  One survivor I know very well had with 6 brothers and sisters been placed in  an instuition that cared for them.

What a mess for the kids, they were punished if they dared use the tribal language, even down to two year old using a non English word . I am not speaking of time outs I am speaking beatings and food with held.

A couple years ago a big court case was brought against not just the Church but the Government of Canada by the survivors and as most were now in late years survivors, they still got a good size settlement  to pass on to their kids for the horror of their childhood.

Still pisses me off that one side of my family French Canadian refused to teach me their Language or Culture as they feared some kind of backlash to me as an adult.

:lmao:

Well, seriously.  I'm no medical professional, but I think I have a pretty good idea of what happened.

And it's very sad, very tragic.

Perhaps the cousin was born with a tendency towards dwarfism--nothing wrong with that; my favorite great-grandfather was a dwarf.  The cousin was born in 1964-1965, somewhere around then.  During the mid-1960s was when certain drugs were being developed; "growth hormones" and somesuch.

The cousin's parents were wealthy, and not unacquainted with medical advances.

The cousin's already remarked many times about the trips she took to a hospital in New York City when she was still a little girl.  She's never said what those trips were for, but a pretty good guess is that she was being injected with all these new drugs so she'd grow more.

Well, these early drugs were imperfect and had all sorts of side-effects.  I think it would've been better if the cousin's parents had just left it alone, instead of subjecting her to all these chancey procedures.  Really, I do.

It's possible all these drugs made the cousin grow in the wrong places, rather than the right places.

It's very sad, because really, she's a great deformity.

But then and again, because of her arrogance, her pissy attitude, her "I-am-God" bearing, one doesn't feel nearly as sorry for her as one would if she were a more pleasant sort of person.

Sorry Frank, but were any of us subjected to what this child was, would it be possible to expect us to be a pleasant person ??

You of all people should recognize the problems the cousin had as a child,  growing up so different from others that the parents take her to doctors to make her "Normal".

Shame on you Frank to wonder why she is as she is not a pleasant person to be around as you see it.

Is she online complaining about YOU, a family member born with no ears or hearing that runs about naked and a Conservative to boot ?
