Post by: I_B_Perky on March 01, 2014, 09:03:56 PM
Bear with me here folks... the dump is boring tonite... the OP and most of the replies are boring. We got one dummie though that fancies himself a chick magnet.

The op:

Just saw an ad for a dating site for those of us over 50, and .
At one point, one of the women said, "I feel like I'm back in high school."

Now why would somebody over 50 want that? I'm 55, and I know I don't.

1. High School wasn't a lot of fun for me.

But dating someone nice makes me feel younger. I want that.

Translation: I want anyone to date me cause nobody would in HS and nobody will now!

2. I'll take my young body back but not the mind

High school usually sucked. I had some fun then, but not enough to want to go back.

I had a blast in HS. Sucks to be you!

3. Another argument for a DU personals sub-forum!

Especially for those of us -- yes! -- past 50, and not still in high school!

Dummie dating forum?  Ewww.

Now it gets good....

4. I've had loves say something similar

Of course I am quite the seducer. Making a woman feel young again is quite a seductive move.

Give me a few hours and I'll show you how all that works.

Dummie is a Casanova!!!!

7. Don't look now, but your ex-loves have posted all your lines on the web

On a humor site.

9. Does that make you feel big?

Posting false flamebait?

Or are you just jealous?

Translation: I've been found out!!!

11. Can't take a joke?

That was mild, friendly teasing. Sorry if it came across the wrong way.

Translation: Please don't alert on me you sensitive *****.

16. I take dating very seriously

Too much emotional damage can be caused by the wrong application of seduction. And what else is the reason for dating other than to see if seduction is a possibility?

Dummie ain't looking for a girlfriend... he looking for a booty call. Wonder if the Ku Klux Klams will show up?

20. Seduction?

I'm 72 and I have forgotten. Who ties up whom?

Dummie was probably a rapist that just got out of prison after a 30 year sentence for rape and done forgot why he was in there.

22. You are over the hill, eh?

I'll be dead the day I can no longer be seductive.

Go ahead and die then.

24. More art than anything

Think 'Moana Lisa'.

We all make music. The real effort should be in making our music be enjoyed by everyone that hears it.

WTF?

6. I'd do fine on there until I opened my mouth (plus I am only 48)

That seems to be most dummies problem.

14. I very definitely do NOT want to feel like I'm back in high school.

High school didn't feel good at all.

Neither does real life apparently.

18. I remember an old article on HS reunions in Psychology Today

The first (10-year) reunion, people try to impress with their success and how well they're doing.

At 20 years they're more laid-back and relate and engage on a personal level.

After that, they're looking for roommates for the retirement home.

That's pretty much it for now. Let us see if the KKK shows up and and takes RobertEarl to task.

Well now. Take the same primitives that whined and griped how bad HS was, then, consider their current situation.
It seems they kept the same attitude and the consequences continue.  Poor DUmmies.

We need to be realistic about this, who to go to for realism but ones mother in her 80-90's

When one goes to the sunbelt as a widow or divorced, the old farts will be all over you as long as you are under 70 with money from a deceased partner.

They have no interest in these older woman, they want a younger woman much younger then them, female companionship yes but also nursing care that is free and a live in woman to be their house keeper.  Check any pre nep you as a woman sign.   Sex is seldom involved in this.

Then there are the  assisted living facilities,  One grand mother in late 70's got into an altercation with another woman that was jealous of her and  her 5 year friend wanted to spend time with my grandma then her.  This was messy, and unexpected for us the family.

When I went into the field I was amazed at the depths of need of the older generation.    Most of these people had spent 40 years of their life going without to educate and prepare their children to become adults. Their partner was gone and there were few to reminisce about old times. The ups and downs of living as a young adult and knew them.

I cannot tell you the number of patients that had sacrificed their lives for children who they had not seen in a couple years.

Just because the mother or father has enough money to pay for nursing care and a twice a year visit or never going to visit the parent because it makes the kids depressed  and sad is no excuse.

Rant,  darn once a parent is not cared for by family, and left to others to care for them ,
is this  not worse then abortion and rejection from family that just wait for the parent to kick over and get what ever what these people struggled to make sure you are safe and secure.
