At the end of January 2013 I posted a video to YouTube called “Ayn Rand & Atlas Shrugged in Under 10 Minutes.” Not surprisingly, I was bombarded with negative comments from conservatives who had been told by Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck that Atlas Shrugged is a great book.

One guy kept insisting that I never read the book. I told him that if he didn't apologize for being so stupid I would delete his comments. Of course he didn't and so his comments were removed. Then he got all his friends to post the exact same comments that he posted. I asked what the possible motivation could be for making a video about a book I hadn't read. Now he concentrates on getting everyone he knows to vote “thumbs down.” I'm pretty sure I will hear from him again when the “thumbs down” surpass the “thumbs up.”

Go and help the primitive with some thoughtful comments on YT and some big thumbs DOWN

Reading or watching Atlas Shrugged is damn near like reading from today's news.

Ayn Rand's Last Public Lecture: The Sanction of the Victims

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XiBU8geK08

Last half of the video is Q&A....some of her answers would make the democrats very happy. She didn't like RR, trickle down economics, she was pro-abortion, anti-religion.....many answers DUmmies would love.

Right you are Johnny.  It is fascinating to watch the DUmmies destroy their relation with the libertarians which is leaving them and their party devoid of youth and vitality.  The average Dummy woman has lots more in common (including the dowdy old woman look) with the Ayn Ryan on that video than today's  young voter. Democrats are rapidly going beyond their 'use by date', becoming a party of angry aging white women and metrosexual men with a dash of butt bandits and carpet munchers tossed in to keep one guessing.  The party of Youth and Vitality?  Not so much anymore.  For kids today the Democrat party is kind of like kissing grandma.  Blech! Imagine Nasty Nancy et al trying to slip ya some tongue, there you have it, today's Democrat.

Stupid Dumpmonkey. He's the kind of idiot who would criticize Animal Farm by saying "Animals can't talk".

Ayn Rand was not a conservative, nor a libertarian. She wrote the Conservative Party of her day "subordinates reason to faith, and substitutes theocracy for capitalism;" and described the libertarians of her day as "hippies, who subordinate reason to whims, and substitute anarchism for capitalism."  (The Objectivist. Volume 10, 1971) She erred in lumping right-libertarianism (individual liberty is the greatest social virtue, and the only legitimate purpose of government is to safeguard that liberty) in with left-libertarianism (anarchism). Since right-libertarianism was not prominent in New York City in the 1960s and early 1970s, her error is understandable.

Rand was an individualist, anti-communist, and Objectivist (the inventor of the philosophy, in fact). She was also a prescient political writer. 60 years ago, she accurately portrayed today's society and political environment.

A Venn diagram of conservatism, libertarianism, and Objectivism would show approx. 1/3 in common between the three schools, and another 1/3 shared between any two.

Who is John Galt? A DUmmy would never understand.

I've read several of this primitives posts on Skin's island. He's living in a fantasy world where Republicans are suckers for buying gold and Democrats are brilliant for investing in the stock market. He's just got to convince himself that he and his liberal ilk are intelligent and those opposed are dumb, otherwise his whole life has no meaning.

As he contemplates life while living in his SW trailer in No. Ohio, maybe he should do some self-examination of why he's living hand-to-mouth.

In one almost incredible coincidence, I was watching AS2, the segment showing Sean Hannity and Juan Williams came on about one of "Mr. Thompson's" edicts. At that moment, the doorbell rang, so I attempted to click "pause" but since it was a new remote, I accidentally switched to one of my recorded shows of Fox News' "Hannity" shows. On it, Sean and Juan were talking about one of Obama's new Executive Orders with regard to the EPA.

It was amazing. It seemed as if there was NO DIFFERENCE between Sean and Juan talking about the dystopian Atlas Shrugged leader and his antics, than from Sean and Juan talking about Obama. I permanently saved that Hannity segment, so one of these days I'm going to splice the two segments together.

I invested in brass and lead. Should society collapse, I'll have a lot of gold.

But the stock market has been very good to me.

Democrats investing in the stock market, while hating wall street out the other side of their crooked mouths.
