0. Well I had to go to the doctor because my cat bit me and my hand became infected.

I have 2 16-year-old cats, and the one that bit me is deaf. I try very hard not to startle her because that's when she will bite. She isn't a biter at any other time. This may happen once a year when she does actually break the skin.
I was checked and received an antibiotic. When I got home, I received a call from the health department. I had to give them info about me and my cat. She has all of her shots, and she never goes outside. I have been treated twice before and nobody called me.
The lady was very nice, and she informed me that someone would be coming by to look at my cat. Then she started talking about a 10 day quarantine. Before I could say WTF, she said I would have to sign a paper and keep her inside. I was very glad to hear that because she does not do well if I have to leave her at the vet's.
So I am expecting someone from the health department to visit. I assume they want to make doubly sure about her for some reason. She is a recidivist after all.
I hope whoever comes is not on a power trip. I have run into some people in jobs where they have to make sure that all procedures are followed. Fire marshals can be the worst in that area. They would check stores I worked in, and invariably act like NapoleonFD. I know they have a job to do, but they don't have to be a prick about it. One fire marshal threatened to throw the manager in jail every time he found a problem no matter how minor. We gave the manager a tin cup for his birthday so he could rake it back and forth across the bars.
I hope this is not some inquisition. I am not worked up about it, but I will be if for some reason they try to take her. She just had a vet visit and he said she looked great.

1. do you perchance live in Nazi Germany?
why in the hell is it the hospital's business about your cat? How is it the health department is calling you regarding this?

Why do they oppose reasonable cat safety laws?Cats should only be used under close adult supervision and locked away when not in use.
O-)
I suspect it is for the cat's safety. They want to make sure it did not get rabies from the DUmmie.

Enjoy the heft of the chains you forged yourself, five-head.

I know doctors are supposed to report to the authorities when they suspect child abuse.
I'm wondering if this isn't really the law or standard procedure, but is happening because the grits primitive, who after all's very ancient, struck the people at the hospital as a not especially competent person, and needs checked on.

Such as what they need to do with the addled grasswire Judy over in Oregon whenever she does something a not-competent older person does.
That's not enough to protect the cheeellldrun, people should have to get a background check before getting a cat, with no 'Free Kitten Box' exception, and also have to have a taxed permit to buy cat food with a seven pound per month limit, and those high-capacity cat food bowls should all be banned and confiscated!
I certainly hope this isn't how the zombie apocalypse begins. - However, I am certain that if there is ever to be a time where zombies roam the earth, it will be some primitive's fault.
With that being said, I suspect the reason for the visit is to confirm that AGG isn't one of those crazy cat people, with dozens of felines trapped inside the house.
Zombie apocalypse. :-) :yahoo:
It is well and truly upon us. For the moment, we feed them enough just to sustain. Heck, some of the more motivated zombies are already declaring that they should "eat the rich." Just wait until that social safety net fails. You'll have tribes of zombie takers roaming the country consuming everything in their path and leaving nothing in their wake. Sure, it'll begin in the large population centers where these zombies tend to populate anyway. They will then quickly run out of resources in those places and move on to suburbs and eventually the countryside. What they fail to understand is that they have their medicaid, SNAP and SSI to protect us from them and their steady hunger for the wealth of others. It's a slow boiling pot that will eventually overflow.
Zombie ROE--Only headshots count. :yahoo:
But aren't they already dead? How does one stop a zombie permanently?

Well, the health department employee checked my cat out.

He didn't even sit down.
I brought Scat out and she was giving both of us the evil eye because we had interrupted her important cat plans.
He took one look at her and said she looked good. I signed a paper agreeing to keep her inside for 10 days. (She's an indoor cat anyway.)
Off he went and that was that. He will check back in 2 weeks to make sure she is not sick.
