DUmmy Taverner is apparently envious of all the attention DUmmy darkangelnumbers is getting over her imaginary nursing job.
When he decided to one-up her bouncy tale, he had to come up with a way to get around his intravenous drug addiction, and still have a job.
He came up with a good one!

I was once offered a job in Iraq. 200K+ per annum
I refused. They wanted me. I said no.
This was in the "Green Zone."
I was to set up the corporate storage silos.
Besides being morally opposed to the job, I thought:
"I don't want to somehow die for this - my kids shouldn't have to pay that price!"
Even though they said they would throw security clearances at me "without urinalysis."
So I refused
I know today that I made a moral judgement

I think this is one of the funniest posts Kregel has ever made!

4. I haven't landed a sales job since
don't think it is related
But something about me not wanting to follow the "team" off of a "cliff" may have hurt me

First of all, DUmmies don't have any morals, and second, did you ask your kids? They might have liked the $200k.

Being DUmmie kids, they probably would prefer him dead for the SS Survivor benefits they could get.

Unmitigated bullshit.
-
What a ****ing liar.
-
Yeah, $200K my ass, Tavs. They paid a lot to get contractors over there, but nowhere NEAR that much for disposable talent like yours. They were either packing sand up your ass about the paycheck, or you're trying to pack it up DU's now.

Not to mention the no urinalysis caveat. Sure, they may not test, but the government can ALWAYS come in and say, "test your people". Then, to keep the contract, they test everyone. It's standard for companies to do this when an employee has an accident due to insurance purposes. Telling that clown, "we won't test you, period", would leave him open to sue them if they ever did, per a government sponsor demand. Not to mention, hey Tavs, the Damn contracting company ISN'T THE ONE THAT HANDS OUT CLEARANCES, FOOL!
As Mike said, unmitigated bullshit. ....but he can get away with that at DU because they're a bunch of DUmb ****s.

:hi5: for your first point, and as for your second, minimum 5-to-1 odds Taverner's kids would walk away from the 200k just to have their own personal bad example 11,000 miles away from them.

I knew someone who, when he would get the DT's, would imagine things like this had happened to him, too.

Per annum? Who uses that term unless it is from a Nigerian e-mail scam?

He probably saw one of those bulk-distributed advertisements, such as what were around after the War for the Liberation of Kuwait 1990-1991, RECONSTRUCTION JOBS! $10,000 PER WEEK! WORKERS NEEDED! SEND $40 FOR LIST OF EMPLOYERS! $10,000 PER WEEK!
<<<fell for it, but was young then.

When you see ads for high paying construction jobs in far away places you had better ask a lot of questions.....a lot of questions.

Actually, the places advertising these lists sent exactly what they promised.
Comprehensive, well-printed lists, I must add.
I wasn't a sucker for sending them $40; I was a sucker in that I wrote letters of application to every single company on the lists. It was easy to do, because I was co-manager of a photocopying center at the time, and could mass-produce cover letters and resumes. But it cost me a fortune in postage.
Many of the places actually responded, with regrets of course.
But there were a few companies--for some odd reason, generally located in Chicago--who were rather huffy about their regrets, ".....you know, we're getting really tired of having to write to every Tom, Dick, and Harry....." or something along those lines.

o.O It has kids?
Well played, sir, well played.

Maybe it was 200,000 owebumabucks.

He probably also turned down the opportunity to make over $70 an hour working from home, like the mother of that guy on nearly every internet comment list.

10. I would not be surprised if they did lie
Everyone I've talked to who did work in the green zone said don't trust 'em
A lot of the nodding mainliners Mark shoots up with used to work in the Green Zone in Baghdad.

You don't know a ****ing sole that worked in the Green Zone because the majority are former military that would have not a damn thing to do with an American-hating asshole like you. ....though I won't say you've never been acquainted with them. How many ass whoopin's have you had while trashing your country?

8. Congrats! If only more people had your principals.
Not only are there several responses pretending to believe this, one of them (a member of the group who think they are smarter than everyone else) apparently thinks DUmmy Taverner has school administrators.

After he paid his back child support he would of only have about $6 left.

Oh for God's sake, everyone believes him, and the one guy questioning anything blames it on the "recruiter" or whoever:

9. the guy lied to you, everyone who comes through the zone either works for the government
Or is a contractor, part of the liabilty issue is having drug free workers especially in a war zone. Not to say some dont use but part of the contracts are that people have clearances and are drug free. Also they probuably lied about the renumeration the number seems high.
You DUmbasses are the most gullible idiots in the world. You believe anything. I can't believe you haven't been scammed out of every possession you own. What easy marks you are.

Actually, one gets the impression that most of them HAVE been scammed out of everything, the most well-to-do ones seem to be the trophy wives or DINK gay couples whose partners weren't stupid enough to give them unfettered assets to the assets.

I asked my wife, Morgan Fairchild, and she said the drug addled DUchebag is totally on the level on this.

I doubt he was offered $200,000 job. It is all made up.

That's how I learned to spell principal different from principle. The Princi(Pal) is your Pal ! In my case I only saw him once or twice.

He turned down 200 boxes of Kellogg's Special K for his kids.....what a great guy.

Seriously, you'd almost have to make double what you do here to make working overseas worthwhile--more still if you would be a geographic bachelor and leaving the family behind. Then there's the emotional toll.
Bottom line, you DUmmies are handicapped enough as it is in far too many ways to even be considered believable.

You are correct, I did it for one year on Kwajalein while working for Northrop on the EKV program. The money was great but it was not the paradise I had expected and I did not sign up for a second year.
There is really nothing to do there other than reading and SCUBA diving in the few locations that were not off limits.

I saw "Mutiny On The Bounty". You have your pick of all those topless wahines with the flowers in their hair and grass skirts.

Kwajelein was well within my territory flying in the south pacific. I try to tell people that romanticized fantasies about tropical island paradises can be quite misleading. I saws plenty of tropical islands, but not one paradise. Not even close.
