How soon should I put applications out??

I will be heading back to Tucson on OCT.5th.

What time is good to start putting out applications online??

I don't want them to start calling while I am still stuck here, but I want to get a head start none the less.

Then I am going to have the problem of the holiday help. I need a full time not a temp.

Any suggestions?

1. I don't think 30 days lead is too long, unless they specify a shorter period.

And you need to specify for them what times you are and are not available for phone contact.

That's not unusual, a lot of people like teachers simply cannot take calls during business hours.

So I think you can start, well, NOW!

2. I was thinking to try for a retail job again.

And keep eyes open for a Studio Production job with one of the T.V. Stations.

I had good luch with a site named Snag a Job. I was getting interviews in short time.

3. I think working on this early is something that makes you look responsible and smart....

...to potential employers!

4. I was thinking of two weeks out.

That way if I get a call in a week (and that does happen to me when I go papering the town) I can try and schedule the interview for the 7th.

5. It probably varies by occupation and position.

Some industries might be headhunting months in advance of an opening, while others don't want to hear from anyone beyond two weeks.

But I think two weeks is fine, and so is three or four, that can't hurt.

6. At this point...

very little can hurt.

You know, I'm wondering if Skippy from New York City had, or has, a handicapped (mentally or physically) younger brother or sister, the way he's treating the simple-minded convenience store clerk primitive.

<<<familiar with it, because was the "handicapped" person in a large family.

I guess it's all good, but that still doesn't take away from Skippy's devotion to Stalinism.

Retail .. really?  Didn't she just try that and hate it?

What's the difference between ringing up a pack of cigarettes or a  pair of socks?

The hurt hasn't even started Miss Amber.  Wait till you show up at 2:00AM in Tucson with $10.00 in your Pay Pall acct. and Chad waiting for you at the door.

I'll bet neither Chad nor Dave knows she's coming.

They're gonna be so excited!!

I know of a systems administrator opening for a car dealership if she is willing to head east instead of west - My understanding is the job comes with a free pet rodent.

She was having good luck--until they asked her for a copy of her transcripts.

Retail and studio production?  She should just go straight to the first pop bottle deposit redemption center she can find.

Given your massive education   :rotf: :rotf: credentials and previous work history, try MSDNC.

.....and yet, 7-11 and Circle K were the best you could do?

Well, if her level of employability is on the level of a muzzie from Pocketstan, she could try for a cab drivers position...oh yeah, she doesn't drive....never mind then.

If willing to look after the previous job-holder, it comes with a pet walrus too.

Unfortunately, the walrus doesn't come with a benefit gravy train.  Even though he constantly claims all sorts of disabilities, he would have already cashed in on them with SSI etc. if they were provable.

Before she does anything, she better have DUmmy rsmithnumbers check over her resume.

She and rsmithnumbers have very similar writing skills. I doubt anyone would suspect that someone helped her.

There is a reason most dummies are unemployed, Skul. This is, but one example.   :cheersmate: :cheersmate:

I don't think she should handle money.  She should try tagging used clothing at the Goodwill.  Maybe she could snag another pair of khakis.

While she sending out those applications, she should contact a temp agency in the Tucson area as well and let them know when she'll be available.

Now, Perky. If you had a couple double "D"'s To bat the admins face with, you, too could administer student loans.  :whistling:
