Americans Are Outraged Because in Voting for Obama, They Thought They Were Rejecting Bush
In 2008, Americans voted for Obama for two primary reasons: 1) to embrace his health care and economic stances in the wake of the financial collapse, and 2) to reject President Bush's hawkish national security and foreign policies.
Of those who voted for Obama, 87 percent strongly disapproved of the war in Iraq, 90 percent claimed McCain would continue Bush's policies, and only 13 percent found the War on Terror to be the election's most important issue (compared with an incredible 86 percent for those who voted for McCain).
Meaning: the greatest divide between voters was the issue of terrorism and how our country was addressing it, both domestically and abroad.
Meaning: many Americans who voted for Obama were reacting in various forms to the war in Iraq, The Patriot Act, and a myriad of perceived constitutional abuses in the name of fighting terror.

7. I think it's even worse for my generation
Obama was the first President we voted for in 2008 and it wasn't about voting against Bush. He really gave us hope for a new way forward and a new type of politics. He talked about valuing education and human rights (health care for all being a human right). He talked about ending the wars and bringing our troops home and closing Guantanamo Bay. His subsequent presidency has crushed much of that hope and instead given us a healthy dose of reality and pessimism that our parents already possessed. I know many people my age who didn't even vote in 2012 because they were so disgruntled. Young people who are outraged are so because they thought in voting for Obama they were voting for campaign trail 2008 Obama. Turns out we weren't.

Uh, I'm sure lil Ava knows that if anything more leftist were installed here, instead of running around on mommy's money taking pictures, she'd be one of those bent-backed women with a short-handled broom sweeping the streets, for pennies a day, like what happens in socialist paradises.
I'm sure Ms Lil Porkette knows that.

Like all liberals she thinks she'd be a party apparatchik, not a peon.
DUmbasses are nothing if not delusional.

You'd think so, but unfortunately not. Lil Ava isn't particularly worldly. She is probably completely unaware that Cuba is reputed to have the best educated hookers on the planet.

That's the problem with the little 'tards. They KNOW every other generation has screwed up. They're simply convinced they've learned all there is to know and that they'll be the first ones to get it right.

I think one could say that about just every young generation, Sparky. Not defending the rotund dummie, mind you, but her attitude is hardly new.
I remember reading an article years ago (circa mid 1980's) in readers digest. It was about the younger generations music. It was a scathing put down about the younger generations degenerate music. It wasn't until the end of the article that the author said he had quoted almost verbatim an article that was written in.... 1845.
Now back to the current younger generation. I have witnessed, personally, some of the attitudes of the younger generation and it disgusts me. A couple of summers ago I was off on assignment and out of the office for several months... from mid March until 4th week of July. Well good ole Perky comes strolling in the office around the last week of June to sign some things and finds several kids, summer interns, sitting at their desk texting and such. The one that set me off was this boy, around 21, sitting there, in the cubicle outside my office no less, in shorts, a tee shirt, with his damned feet on the desk. So I went over there, asked him nicely if he was comfy, and he said something about the chair was too hard or something and could he get another one?
I went ballistic and he had the nerve to look surprised.
I have had phone interviews where I called the person's number at a certain time, they knew I was calling, and they answered "What up?".
I have had people that answered their cell phone in the middle of an interview and had a 5 minute conversation about an upcoming concert or cookout.
That is the younger generation of today.

I'm just shocked to read the chinless li'l 'Bama butterball using the word "****".
She has apparently embraced the "culture" of New York City.
With her film degree, she's probably making big money in the industry.
According to Rule 34, there should be no shortage of opportunities in film for fat little girls with no chin and a southern accent.

Everyone has hope in them, it's up to you to bring it out in yourself, if you have to rely on someone to even do that for you? you really do have a lot of problems.

is not the same as falsely equating one president with another over a few issues and venting outrage over some story that broke 7 years ago when there are other important issues to be discussed (such as jobs and Congress voting on food stamps).

Ava is only a few years younger than I am, and I find it hilarious that she complaining about how hard our generation has it. To many people in their 20's believe that you have the right to "follow your dreams" and have it pay for everything you want and need. They have spent so much time being told how wonderful they are that they don't think they should have to start at the bottom.
People complain about how hard it is to get jobs, but many young people aren't willing to move to where the jobs are. Quite simply, if you are single, what is keeping you from moving to get an awesome job? I applied to nursing jobs all over the county. I was perfectly willing to move to North Dakota or Alaska if my other job prospects didn't work out. People who are married and who have children or other family commitments don't have that sort of freedom.
If you still can't find a job, find a CNA program. 6-12 weeks of schooling and you will almost certainly be able to find a job at a nursing home. Sure it is a difficult, dirty job at times, and you may have to work nights, but it is better than sitting on your couch complaining about not being able to find work. It will give you a paycheck while you work towards something better.
Sometimes being an adult means that you work on your passion in your spare time. You write, create videos, compose music on your off time, and you work so that you don't starve.
-
Imagine that you had a company that was still making money without government intervention. A company that through clever and well planned actions made it through the perilous times that the democrat party has brought about. Would you give 18 year oldes an equal vote in that company,s leadership?
Hell no! You would be asking for certain financial ruin. Young people really think that they are smart and so easily fooled.
This is why voting should be at 26, like for health care. I would put it at property owners and people that actually pay income taxes.

In 2008, Americans voted for Obama for two primary reason:
Liberals feeling white guilt.
As to the little photog piglet, she's developed quite a mouth on her. I'd bet her momma would be proud.

Shocking I know, but I have zero sympathy for her. Folks on twitter have been posting @OFAFellows pics all day today, as they kick off their summer community organizing for The One. Yes, The One, even though he cannot run again. I assume the underlying message is about GOTO for Dems in 2014, but the pics are nothing short of cult-like.

Well said.
Most generations have faced hard times and that was before the magical 99 weeks of unemployment.
When I was younger and would get laid off, I did not waste any time looking for a job and accepting any offer presented to me.

Poor Ava....
I guess she discovered she isn't the next Martin Scorsese, and a film about the life of a town dog isn't the new Taxi Driver.
Quite the kerfunkle. - all that college money spent, and she has bukus to show for it.
Its not like we haven't warned her for years that unless she starts directing porn, she has little chance at a career in her chosen profession. Your 15 minutes are up, it seems even DU has turned on you. Hopefully you salvage your life by following Celtic Rose's advice, and find a career that will get you paid, and continue working on your arts as a hobby. Maybe you will be 'discovered' and have a shot. But if you aren't, at least you will still have a productive life with enough income to be able to support yourself and your hobby.
Unlike what Nancy Pelsoi promised, Obama isn't going to pay you to continue to 'follow your dreams'. Sorry.
-
I love your last sentence. It highlights a big difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives make the best of reality.
Exactly - I didn't decide when growing up that I wanted to be a mailman. My wife didn't decide she wanted to work for the local energy monopoly. But we make enough money to support our home, our kids, and have enough left over to support our dreams.

First, Transgendered Latino Morphidite Studies Degree!! That there is teh funny!
Second, for the fat DUchebag, the longer 0bama is in office the worse things will be for the young and the minorities. These are just facts that youth, black, and hispanic unemployment has never been higher than under 0's reign of economic illiteracy. Student debt has never been higher as a total or as a percentage. Student debt default...you guessed it never been higher. The divide between rich and poor, never higher. the debt that the young will have around their neck has never expanded at a higher rate (3-4 times that of any other president). Funny thing, crime rates had been dropping for decades but not anymore. There is not one aspect of our lives that 0bama has not made worse. But hey, at least you will have an all oppressive government on your back for the rest of your life...so you got that going for you.
I have one bit of wisdom to import to all the DUches. The democrat party is hard left. Hard leftists hate the middle class. Wait, I have a second wisdom nugget; don't listen to what a hard leftist like 0bama, pelousi, reid say, watch what they do.

I think Ava has matured. A lot. Before she ran off to college, she was far more subservient to the hive....now she's standing up for herself. When young people first become disillusioned with the ugly realities of life, it is normal for them lean hard on their core beliefs - in lil' Ava's case, the Socialist Utopian dreams she was raised on. But eventually, her outrage (step 2: anger) will give way to all the other stages of grief and she'll have a choice: the final stage of Acceptance, or she'll snap out of her trance and start to behave and believe like a normal human. Time will tell.

I'm actually home in Alabama for the summer, having just graduated from NYU. I'm completing editing and we plan to begin submitting to the festival circuit in July/August. Also accepted a position at Duke University's graduate school where I'll be earning my MFA starting at the end of August. All good things... very happy and very excited.

Fixord for insane leftists.
-
so she's going to waddle over to Duke this fall.
I know DUke's a great university, but with their attempted lynching of the lacrosse guys and the shouted, obnoxious worship from Dick Vitale it's hard not to hate the place.
Now they have the chinless 'Bama butterball blimp.

You write, create videos, compose music on your off time, and you work so that you don't starve.
no shit! The little assholes think they deserve it! You no longer have to work for a damn thing. It's supposed to be furnished you.

By the time Ava gets her useless MFA degree, PhDD will be ready to retire up at the University of Minnesota.
Ava can take her place as the new professional beggar!

Wow! Lol.

That was hilarious! SooperMexican is awesome.
There's something about that fat lower lip that both Chelsea and Ava have, that makes me queasy and nauseated.

The OFA people got their pizza from Papa Johns?
It's so outdated a lot of people aren't familiar with the word, but it you want to know why the muslim calls his Hitler Youth organization "OFA", check the urban dictionary:

Perhaps the DUmmies need to learn the wisdom of Tyler Durden:
"Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else."

Masters of Fine Arts. Way to pigeon hole yourself into nothing productive. Guess she will follow in the steps of Mr. William Rivers Pitt now...

*Hammer---------->Nail*
I have seen this, repeatedly, at work. Here I am with my Transgendered Latino Morphidite Studies Degree!! Where's my supervisor job, corner office with a lakeview and 6 figures?
Take a broom and get started, twink.
I know several people that had to take entry level jobs after years of making good money in trades that no longer had any opportunities. They simply are doing what it takes to provide food and shelter for themselves and family. Now they are told their hours are being cut to under 30 a week....when they are used to working 40 or 50.....Under President Obama it's hard on all generations, not just those that were spoon fed by their parents.

Li'l Ava did not spend her college days dining on ketchup soup and ramen.
She went from being a chinless little butterball to a gross bloated hog.
She's not in LVL territory yet, but she's headed in that direction.
Her mother is still hawt. :naughty:

She's making movies!

I agree about the degree. Film might of been a good minor, but not a major.....she can always carry a camera for a local news crew during the next hurricane.

One common reason for the financial distress of DUmpmonkeys is their tendency to confuse "hobby" with "career".

Oh dear, someone needs to step away from the butter.
