DU gun owners that are PRO-CONTROL?
After the flap the other day, it is time to clear something up. I have a few firearms in my house. One I have owned since I was 18 years (1975) old. Marta inherited her mom's little Derringer in the mid 80's. One I inherited from my dad in 1994. I haven't added anymore since then. None are loaded when friends or relatives visit. They are locked up. The ammo is locked up in a separate location in the house. All are legal under any proposed gun control measure that I know of.
I hope most DUers know I'm very pro-control. Some proposals don't go far enough. There are way to many toddlers finding loaded firearms and accidentally killing themselves or others. Goggle this: toddler death gun
Even police officers have firearms stolen and used to kill in a school: But on this four-minute visit, Butler had a gun. It was a Glock .40, believed to be the service weapon of his father, an Omaha (http://www.omaha.com/article/20110105/NEWS97/110109863) police officer.
Trigger locks, gun cabinets, required safety classes, no gun fire (except home or self defense) within 2 miles of a residence, etc. need to added into the mix. Remember the AK-47 gunfire in the neighborhood (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014372096) by drunks?
Our son lost a friend (Maurice) when he was in high school. It was the summer of 91. A teen with an semi-automatic hand gun didn't know there was a round in the chamber. He jokingly pointed it at his head and pulled the trigger. His younger brother was in the car with him and watched it happen. It was one block away from our home. It's an all to often happening in America.
I don't hunt. As one of the louder union voices on the DU, I suggest you take a look at this: http://www.unionsportsmen.org/
Gun responability must be part of the complex issue!

4. My power tools are locked up too
Guns are a tool, and are even more dangerous than a sawzall. But lots of idiots don't control either.

11. Too true
We used to keep everyone with the slightest hint of a mental disorder locked in an asylum or mom's attic their entire life. You can't do that anymore, not saying we should.
<<<thinks we should.

Steve is lying. He wants Frank to think he has a gun because he is scaredy.

Putz.

Until proposed gun laws include DUmmies from owning them or even being around them laws will be ineffective. Almost all these shootings are done by leftists.

If the jug-eared Kenyan had a son, he'd look like the shooters.

Steve's ok with the bans because it doesn't affect any if HIS guns.

The sobbing neckbeard is as knowledgeable about firearms as the jug-eared muslim is at "doing skeet".

I think he's still trying to make up for being accused of racism in that other thread.
This is another DUmp cred bouncy.

Well, what bothers me is the big guy hasn't specified what kinds of firearms he has, other than poor dear Marta's little Derringer pistol.
He says one's he's had since he was 18--which is a very very very long time ago--and the other he inherited from his late father in 1994.
But what are they? Shottguns? Riffles? Pisstols?
Or perhaps even 88mm cannon?
-
I bet they say "Nerf" on them.

You know, last November, the area Lions' Club had a raffle, for a Benelli Super 90 shotgun, and as I support all the good work the Lions do, I bought bundles and bundles of tickets.
I had no idea what I'd do with it, but I figured if I won it, it'd make a good DUmpster topic. And this was before that school massacre in Connecticut, and probably about 150 deaths in Chicago since then, gunned down by lil Treyyvon wannabes.

Chris, if Bob's into any 'unacceptable' behaviors, those work wonders on 'correcting the problem.'
-
Well, if he uses the gun like he did his father's uniform items, he ****ed those up too.
And NO, Steve, wearing daddy's CIB on your fat ****ing button-strained shirt isn't "honoring" him, and if he was there and any sort of a man, he'd have bitchslapped you into next week for having pulled a ****ing stunt like that.

He's okay, it's the dog that is being an asshole.

Finally a gun ban that I can support, no DUmmy should have a gun ever.

I disagree.
There are no more solid 0bamaites than the hoodrats of Cook County.
They shoot their fellow hoodrats at a fierce pace.
That keeps the crime rate down for everything except hoodrat killings.
Can you imagine the chaos in Chicago if those thousands of dead urban youths had survived?

So, if some stoned robber comes in and wants to steal his freezer full of mini-tacos, Steve would have to
run waddle from the couch to one room, catch his breath, unlock the guns, run waddle to another room, catch his breath again, unlock the ammo, fumble around trying to load it, then run waddle back into the kitchen and confront the stoner?
Sounds reasonable to me...

You forgot squealing in terror the whole trip through the house. :-)
This shows exactly how stupid Steve is. Steve owns a club or 2, a bunch of pebbles of various sizes and at least one rock because thats all unloaded weapons are.
IF he owns any guns and is as antigun as he says why does he have ammo for them? Doesn't he know by his own party line that this is dangerous? Those guns seek out ammunition to become complete in order to fulfill their destiny to become killing machines according the fineswines of the democrat party. Why would he even contemplate keeping empty at all, after all he can swap them out with the local police for a pair of WalMarts finest tennies. He could have used that photo op during his run to show how wonderful a candidate he was.
Oh yeah I forgot, it's all a bullshit Stevie story.

Ok, let's digest that one. When friends and relatives visit, OS goes and he unloads the guns. When they leave, he loads them again.
Why?

O S, I saved my money and bought my first gun at age 12, a 6/7 shot .410 bolt action. The next year I bought a 12 ga. double barrel. At age 15, I bought a 12 ga. pump and a .22 target pistol. At age 16/17 I bought several 8 mm Mauser(sp?) rifles, a few 6.5 Italian carbines, some M-1 carbines with collapsing stocks (some called them the paratrooper model) and a pair of German 9mm pistols.....and thousands and thousands of rounds of WW2 ammunition for all. No background check, no registration, no age limit, nothing .....and I still ain't shot anybody....there must be something wrong with me.
No, I don't have them any more. I sold, traded or they were stolen.....and then there was the boating accident. :-)
Oh this would drive the DUmmies crazy. I was 16/17 years old (1963/64), kid nextdoor was 2/3 years younger than me. He had a .45 cal. fully automatic submachine gun. I don't remember what it was but it wasn't a Thompson. I think it was called a "Spitfire 45"(?). Any way the kid rode around with it in a holster on his Honda 65 motorcycle....... :lmao:....little Hell's Angel he was..... :lmao:....me and him would go down to an old abandoned gravel pit and pile up some brass....those were the good old days.

This O.S. we're talking about, that's far too much effort. He states that they're not loaded when other people are around, but he doesn't state that they are loaded when people are...even assuming that he's not telling lies (which is, of course, a ridiculous assumption in itself), there's nothing to suggest anything other than he has a couple of guns he's too scared to touch and so leaves locked up somewhere.

I've never understood the concept of having a gun in one place and the bullets in another. My daddy says if you're not going to keep your gun loaded you might as well not have one.

The only time that ever happens is when I'm transporting one.

Marta's mom's derringer?
Oh, good lord. That is lame as hell.
