I've just gotta share this ...

Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan and I try to go out for dinner at least once a week, usually on Friday ... gotta keep the economy going. We chose Red Lobster ... I know, we're supposed to hate them after this ObamaCare thing. But never-the-less, that's where we chose ... and I'm kinda glad we did.

We were seated in a pretty comfortable spot and proceeded to talk about our day. Our Waitress came over and began to take our order. From her speak pattern, Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan and I knew that Red Lobster had done a wonderful thing ... They had hired a person with a cognitive disability.

Although we had to repeat our order more than once and we had to wait for our water, Holly ... was very pleasant and had a great sense of humor, and she was trying very hard to please us.

However, the people at the next table over were real a$$holes with her ... they made a real fuss because she couldn't seem to get that they wanted a Strawberry Pina Colada AND a Crown on the Rocks, she brought the Colada without the Crown and had to go back for it. It delayed their drinking, maybe 2 minutes. She was very apologetic but that was not enough for this couple ... the raised so much hell that the manager came out and switched out her to another table.

Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan and I overheard everything that had happened and Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan was pi$$ed that this couple was treating the waitress so poorly. So when the manager went around to all of the other tables that Holly was serving, asking about her service, Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan made a point of saying how much so enjoyed Holly as a server. Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan also made a point to tell the manager that she knew that the couple next to us had complained, and told him that they were intolerant a$$holes (and Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan does not swear ... ever). Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan ended the discussion with the manager saying that we had real problems with Darden's anti-ObamaCare stance, but with the retraction and this franchise's having made the decision to take a chance on Holly, we would forgive them and would be returning every Friday and requesting Holly as a Server.

(I didn't even know Mrs. 1StrongBlackMan had been following the darden thing)

21. I went to Walmart in October

I had to buy some emergency clothes for a student and I knew they would have the cheapest and I didn't have very much money. (and, before you all lecture me, goodwill would have been an option usually but I needed underwear and I won't buy those used for a student.)

So, my point is, I can't lecture you about Red Lobster, since I've been bad and went to Walmart recently.

But that is great about Miss Holly. I LOVE it when I see businesses that accept everybody like that.

So, I'm curious, how much did 1MrsStrongBlackMan's leave for a tip? I'm guessing Miss Holly made some really good tips because of those asshats.

Good grief they have to apologize for where they shop and justify why. Must suck to live like that. If the posters here don't like where I shop they can kiss my ass I won't apologize for where I choose to do business.

It makes more sense when you realize none of it actually happened.

Costco was/is a big supporter of obama but I do most of my shopping there. Why?  They have the stuff I want at a good price. I see it as win/win. No apologies, no boycotts, no drama . I shop where I get the best value.

My big thing about CostCo is the whole fiasco in Las Vegas where a concealed handgun holder (Erik Scott) was killed because a "Loss Prevention Officer" freaked out that he was carrying.

Does that make ANY sense at all whatsoever.    Did they learn about the "Darden thing" while they were eating dinner?   They ALREADY chose to eat there regardless of it, so what the hell does Holly have to do with it?

If Holly truly has a cognitive impairment then bravo to Red Lobster.

I'll bet you any amount of money you'd care to loose the "offending" couple were a couple of Dimrat Obama voters.

13. Stop supporting chains

Stop supporting chains. Support mom and pop businesses. Just because they hired one girl, is still not a good excuse to go to their restaurant, if you want to really support her, support places that don't cheat their employees health care.

apparently all chain stores are forbidden to shop at now

All those people out of work when you DUmmies shut down all chain stores isn't going to help prezzy ochooma's unemployment numbers.

If there really were any other assholes at that restaurant besides 1BigBullshitter, it's a pretty safe bet they were Democrats too.

There is a lot more to that story than what you have read on the internet.  Just saying....

Wow, so hiring the slightly disabled is a plus for a business?  Then you have to wonder why they hate Wal-Mart, surely they hire more slightly disabled people than any other business...

I don't get their obsessive love affair with "mom and pop businesses". Some of the biggest penny-pinching assholes I've ever met were the proprietors of small businesses, and didn't treat their employees any better than the chains. They treated them worse in many situations because they didn't have have high-profile, national reputations or boycotts to worry about. That's not to say there aren't a lot of good people out there with small businesses or that they shouldn't be supported, but by and large I don't see their employees benefiting more than anyone else.

You'd better hurry up and do it before ObingaTax® runs them out.

You're right, they don't.   They have to say that because it increases their us against them cred, or something.  ObingaTax® is going to hurt them far more than the chains.  This, of course, will be the ReTHUGlicans fault because they didn't support ObingaTax® enough and are anti-Union which, as we all know, is a boon to small mom and pops.

Absolutely.

The only difference between "mom and pop" and chains is that the chains have far better selection at far better prices.

The only purpose served by "mom and pop" businesses is to fill niches where the volume isn't enough for a chain store.

They'll apologize for being American, white and  not poor.

They revel in weakness, poverty, insanity and infirmity.

If this happened, and it didn't, I feel bad for Holly.  Being a waitress in one of these chains is extremely high pressure.  You don't have the time to be forgetting the Crown on the Rocks.  You have to be moving people in and out of there like cattle.  You have to be sharp as a tack, especially if you're going to be relying on tips.   The name of the game is volume, and if people have to repeat their orders 5 times, well, you're looking at trouble.
