United Nations to monitor elections for voter fraud suppression by conservatives

(Erica Ritz) -- The Hill is reporting that The Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE), a United Nations partner on democracy and human rights projects, will be deploying several dozen observers across the United States amid concerns of voter suppression. Alerted by left-leaning civil rights groups, they are apparently on the lookout for “systematic” efforts to prevent minorities from voting for President Obama.

The Hill continues:

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the NAACP and the ACLU, among other groups, warned this month in a letter to Daan Everts, a senior official with OSCE, of “a coordinated political effort to disenfranchise millions of Americans — particularly traditionally disenfranchised groups like minorities.”

The request for foreign monitoring of election sites drew a strong rebuke from Catherine Engelbrecht, founder and president of True the Vote, a conservative-leaning group seeking to crack down on election fraud.

United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups, a concern raised by civil rights groups during a meeting this week. The intervention has drawn criticism from a prominent conservative-leaning group combating election fraud.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), a United Nations partner on democratization and human rights projects, will deploy 44 observers from its human rights office around the country on Election Day to monitor an array of activities, including potential disputes at polling places. It's part of a broader observation mission that will send out an additional 80 to 90 members of parliament from nearly 30 countries.

See what the banana republicans have done?

1. Who would ever thought this would happen in the USA?

This is the stuff that needs to be done in other parts of the world.

This is a result of how radical the republicans and their teabagger cohorts in terror.

Yeah the nerve of those teabaggers for having a different view than you, and to make matters worse we go out and vote.  :whatever:

4. Could you imagine what would happen if they find issues?

It would be devastating.

Yes it could be very devastating to the democrats if they happen upon the new black panthers pulling their crap at a polling station, Holder won't stop them maybe the UN will.  :-)

2. Voter fraud and voter suppression are two entirely different things.

Voter fraud is rare in the extreme. Voter suppression (voter id laws, caging, purging, tossing out registration forms, intimidation at the polls, jamming GOTV phone lines, mailers with false voting day dates, short-changing certain neighborhoods by reducing the number of machines and polling places...) is a systematic issue and the elements combined are the new Jim Crow laws in regards to voting.

3. I'm glad to see this happening

I guess even the UN knows what's at stake.

Yeah the UN knows that 0bama will roll over and play dead for them anytime they ask, so of course they will want to do what they can to help him stay in power. Putin is counting on the second term so he doesn't have to worry about our nukes anymore.

Hell yeah, why not let the UN "monitor" the election? After all, who wouldn't want them to monitor that big night after announcing to people NOT to vote Romney??

I look at it like this:
1)Romney wins and they cry foul. We point out how they basically said the only acceptable result is an O win, and their allegations mean about as much as a fart in a tornado, and tell them to pound sand.
2) They try to file suit in court. We claim they have no standing since they are not citizens and have no rights under the Constitution to influence our form of government, and tell them to pound sand.
3) They try to sanction the US for voting improprieties. We cut off funding and tell them to pound sand.
4) They threaten "regime change" through military means. We tell them to bring it, the US army has had 10+ years of combat training and American citizens have 50M+ privately owned weapons.

What they need to do is place election monitors outside of inner-city polling places, and inside of offices of the urban bosses.

Any UN "monitering" is only code for "turn a blind eye when the 'rats cheat, when illegals attempt to vote, etc" but make a stink when poll watchers try to make sure US law is upheld by preventing the same.

This wouldb't be an issue if it wasn't for things like ACORN.

The UN couldn't find their ass with a 1:1 scale map. That is on a good day.

This is just an excuse for a bunch of EUrocrats to come to the US for a junket and piss away a bunch of taxpayers money on booze, whores and luxury hotels.

It's all being done for show.  The Diebold machines are already programmed to give the elections to conservative candidates.  This is merely Kabuki theater to assuage leftists.  They don't realize when they're beaten.

I vote we just jump to that part and be done with it.

Threaten regime change..............

If they watch us as well as they watched Saddam for illegal weapon purchases and oil sales, Iran for nukes and their own troops for pedophilia then we have nothing to worry about.

If they tried such a thing, they'd be escorted out and told to stand outside the exclusion zone.
Pure and simple, they have no jurisdiction whatsoever.
Just another DUmmies wet dream.

The USA contributes about 22% of the UN's budget. That should be #1 on the budget axe.  :hammer:

^^^This.

According to the story, there's only going to be around 130 of them. Considering that there are tens of thousands of polling places in the U.S. coupled with the fact that a lot of those 130 will be in election offices and other non-polling venues to "observe all aspects of the process" makes this whole thing one big unfunny joke.

Of course, DUmmies lap up this kind of anti-American symbolism.

Montgomery – In response to news that poll watchers affiliated with the United Nations will be sent across the country to monitor balloting in various states and search for evidence of “voter suppression” during the upcoming November 6 presidential election, Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard said he will support legislation in the next session requiring all poll watchers in Alabama to hold U.S. citizenship.

I think you're a little low on your number.

As for the UN, if they have a problem with it, they should sanction us. Sanction us with their army. Oh, they don't have an army? Well, I guess they need to shut the **** up.

I think it was a company called "Scattergun Technologies" that had an "Urban Sniper Rifle" a few years ago.  It was a Remington 11-87 12 gauge with a 18" fully rifled barrel, and a 3-9x40 mm scope on it (Leupold?).  The literature on it claimed that most urban police sniper shots are 150 yards or less.  That thing would certainly do . . . ! :fuelfire:
