Tomorrow night (Monday 10/22/12) at 9:00 PM is the final Presidential debate. We will be posting live in this thread during it..
As a starter: This debate is on foreign policy. With how obama's foreign track record is, Romney has this in the bag. obama is the worst President on foreign policies since Jimmy Carter.
Note: I will be posting the video in the debate re-watch thread when it is done so those who missed it can see it. Or even if those who want to re-watch it can.

The debate starts at 8:00 p.m. central time Monday evening.
You know, I always resented that "prime time" in the eastern time zone doesn't start until 9:00 p.m. there, making it 8:00 p.m. in the vast middle of the United States. It's an hour too late, and one can't stay awake. "Prime time" should ideally start at 7:00 p.m. central time.
It freaked me that, when living in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Dan Rather came on at 6:30 p.m., after supper, rather than 5:30 p.m., before supper. The evening news is a "before supper" thing, not an "after supper" thing.
And the local nightly news at.....11:00 p.m.? Geezuz.
Night is for sleeping, not watching television.
For whatever that's worth.....

I was in Chicago for a week and the hour early for the tv shows drove me nuts. Well, that and the hour different time zone in a whole. My OCD wouldn't let me handle it properly. I have a relative who lives on the time line in Tennessee. His house is Eastern time, and where he works, less than ten miles away, is an central time. Talk about messing you up.

That would definitely suck. The corporate office at my current job is in the Eastern time zone, so I get to watch everyone log out of their computers by 4pm and I'm still stuck at work for another hour.

Okay, my usual and standard caution here.
Things have been going good, really good, for Mitt Romney since he got the Republican nomination.
There hasn't been a bump in the road.
But there's still 15 days before the elections, and anything can happen.
If and when it does, just keep your heads; bumps on the road to winning are a fact of life.
If something one doesn't want to happen, happens, just accept, adapt, and move on.
Persistence, tenacity, constantly plugging away, wins.

Well, the final Presidential debate will be over in the next several hours.
I’m sensing a certain level of stress among some Romney supporters in the lead up to this debate. Sure, it’s human nature to feel anxious just before a big event … especially when we are so invested in Mitt’s success. But I’m not nervous one bit, and here’s why ….
Governor (soon to be “President Electâ€) Romney has much more to gain than to lose in this debate. It’s Obama that has the tough job tonight. The non-incumbent challenger generally has a low-bar to clear in these debates. They only have to 1) show that they can credibly be Commander-in-Chief and 2) avoid major gaffes. Mitt has shown that he is more than capable of achieving this based on his first two debate showings.
Much of the “who won the debate?†game is about expectations. Obama was widely expected to be a superior debater/communicator, and it was a race-changing event when he lost the first debate so dramatically. This set up debate number two, where Obama had reset his bar down to the floor. As such, many observers felt that he “won†the second debate (by a much narrower margin than the 1st debate, and more on style than on actual issues according to polls). But the President’s “win†was really more of a “most improved†award … we’ve seen no bounce in the polls for him at all.
Conventional wisdom is that Obama is supposed to trounce Governor Romney tonight, since the topic is Foreign Policy. The problem for Obama, is that his supposed foreign policy superiority is already “baked into the cake†of his poll numbers/support. Obama’s problem arises from the fact that his foreign policy successes begin and end with “Bin Laden is dead.†Sure, that’s a HUGE point, but it’s sort of hard to talk about THAT for 90 minutes straight. And no voter is going to change his mind to vote for Obama on this issue. “Hey yeah, Obama got Bin Laden … I had forgotten that. I guess I’ll vote for him now.â€
Even those formerly on Obama’s foreign policy team decidedly do NOT see this as a strength for him (be sure to read that scathing rebuke!).
The debate will give Mitt an opportunity to, once again, unexpectedly impress voters on the depth and breadth of his international experience and knowledge. The media have painted him as a lightweight on foreign policy, someone out of his depth. Mitt can and will highlight his substantial foreign exposure through his public, private, and religious experiences.
The wildcard issue for tonight is Banghazi … and not in a good way for Obama.

The Democrat-controlled Senate has not passed a budget in nearly four years. That means Mr. Obama has not passed a budget at all in that time. They are using "baseline budgeting" which allows them to use the previous-year's spending as a minimum spending limit.

Since I was actually in that one, it burns me too. I can't see how he is constantly allowed to get away with it, everything was done except the ceremonial part before he took office. Also, for that matter, how can he get away with claiming all the credit for Osama, when it was just the culmination of a ten-year effort, most of which occurred under Bush, and using forces and assets he 'Inherited' from his much-maligned predecessor?

I thought it was a tie through out most of it but I think Romney pulled it out at the end when he reminded everyone watching that Obama's policies have failed and that we as a nation are worse of now than we were four years ago. No matter what Obama says or does he can't sugar coat that fact. Even laying his problems at the feet of George W. Bush rings hollow after four years.
