This has probably been asked before. I may have even answered in a thread about it before, but here it is again.
How did you get to ConservativeCave?
For me it went like this (if I remember it all correctly)...
Either after W was elected in 2000 or during the run up to the election, I stumbled upon a site called Hollywood Halfwits while reading about some of the fruitloop celebs that was against Bush. I joined up. I even became a paying member. The Hollywood Halfwit site eventually became RightNation.
If I remember correctly some folks had gotten disenchanted with the way things were being handled at RightNation and started a forum called RightSociety. I got invited over there. RightSociety was an enjoyable place with good people. I was still a member at RightNation but mainly posted at RightSociety. Then I got banned from RightNation. It's the only place, not counting moles on DU, that has ever banned me.
Someone from RightSociety introduced me to Conservative Underground so I joined there. When RightSociety closed down Conservative Underground became my main hangout.
Conservative Underground was a great and entertaining place. Then the Ronulans invaded. And a crocodilian seemed to lose it. A friend invited me to Conservative Cave. It was fun and entertaining. It was kind of like what Conservative Underground was like when I first got there. I've been here ever since. I'm a member at a few other places that are good places with some good members, but for some reason most of my time seems to be at Conservative Cave.
I do want to take the opportunity to say that since SR and SaintLouieWoman took over Conservative Underground is back to being a good place. I don't post there, but I do visit often. They've done a great job over there. So two big thumbs up to SR and SLW.

What brought you to CC?
**** Ron Paul.
That's what brought me here. :II:

And, the redheads.

I googled "conservative forums".
There was this one and CU.
So, I hung around and read some to get the feel for both of them.
CU was too....civil....for me.
So, I decided to come here and hang out with the other miscreants.
-
I had left our old home in the wake of the 2006 election and was hanging out in FR when franksolich sent me a private message letting me know about this place.
I had missed the whole Ronulan invasion and, just like a third arm, I didn't miss it.
-
I came over with Rebel and the "sex and booze" crowd from CU. All my faves, with only one or two exceptions, moved over here. Also, franksolich.
-
I followed my buddy Traveshmockery over here. :-)

Similar story for me. I needed some ammo to beat up on the libs from my other online forum...Netfriction.

Thank you so much. SR and I enjoy coming here, too. There's room for more than one or 2 conservative sites. I came here to keep up with my old (and new) friends here.
and we don't have the Ronbots, at least not for too long. And the alligator guy is no longer with us, has been gone for some time.

Agreed! Kinda weird that I've been posting at CU for 8 years now. Obviously not as long as you, SR & several others. 8)

That is the same road map I followed to get here.

I was looking for sites that discussed politics. I found DU first and this place second. I like seeing what's happening, but can't stand TV. When I read something of interest I can research it further. I get great leads here. That's originally why I found DU interesting. Anything that gets them worked up is most often a good thing.
-
Back in the old Yahoo board days I ran into a poster named GoreBites. S/he invited me to join CU. At the time I didn't join, but did lurk. From there I found FR and the DUmp, then CC.
-
I had been checking out conservative websites for quite a while, then hit upon Conservative Underground, and remained with it for years. However, I soon saw that most of the real action could be found here on Conservative Cave, so I joined this site. While there were some initial issues with the registration process or me, they eventually let me join, and I'm happy they did!

Gawddammright.
And peach cobbler donuts.
You WILL give me partial credit when you invent those, yes?
-

Well, yeah. Sparky's peach cobbler donuts.
-
DrudgeReport link to Free Republic (which I didn't join) from which I found The Dummie Funnies and used to visit the DF website specifically (and laugh at DU). After reading DF for several months, I found in the comments section a post by either Franksolich or Dumb Ass Tanker advertising CC sometime around Jan. 08 so I came over here, lurked for a bit and joined in March 08.
-
I actually got sent here by DU. I had been lurking there for years & reading DUmmie Funnies & picked up the name of this site from some DUmmie rant.
-
From reading DUmmie FUnnies. :cheersmate:
Charles had a CC link in there one day, and I had to look.
Haven't stopped laughing at the primatives since then. :lmao:
Oh, and pie.
-
Moved here when CU had "issues".
-
I think it was Traves who posted in the comments section of Newsbusters:
"Would you like to read the DemocraticUnderground without actually having to go there? Go here: CC link."
So I came here principally to keep an eye on the idiot liberals, but enjoy all the other sections as well.
-
Well, yeah. Sparky's peach cobbler donuts.
I look at it this way--Dunkin does those apple crumb donuts every now and then.
How hard could it be to do something similar using peach filling?
Oh yeah--and anti-Paul. That's what brought me here.
-
Lurked at DU for a bit during the 2000 election season, when a poster there mentioned CU and went there to check it out. Same issues as everyone else after that, the Rontards, Gator going off the deep end, CU crashing and having to re-sign up. Decided to cool it on the forums for a while and found this place with most of the people from CU.
-
Frank...laughter...fattening food...and the occasional boobies.
Frank: Liked his style of writing.
Laughter: Who can't enjoy laughing at the DUmmies.
Fattening food: BACON.
And the occasional boobies: At my age it doesn't take much to make me happy.
-
Followed Reb, Thor and Eupher from military.com to usmilnet.com to here.
Makes me sound like a stalker :thatsright:
They really did invite me here .... :shucks:
-
Win One For The Gipper told me about CU when we were at Free Republic.
I posted at CU until a whole lot of folks got fed up with Gator and his crap, and Reb decided to open the doors here. If I may brag a little I helped come up with the name Conservative Cave. :-)
-
Jty invited me. :cheersmate:

Vast Right Wing Conspiracy General Order #23.

Vast Right Wing Conspiracy General Order #23.
Which is not to ever be confused with General Order #24
General Order 24: An order to destroy all life on an entire planet. This order has been given by Captain Garth (Antos IV) and Captain Kirk (Eminiar VII). On neither occasion was the order actually fulfilled.

What about Captain Kangaroo and Cap'n Crunch?

That is the same road map I followed to get here.
Did you happen to get banned at RightNation too?
It's been so long ago I didn't know if I was remembering the RightNation and RightSociety stuff correctly.

I left then after a long time had poassed I found out my account was still active and self deleted from that place.

I used to post on the weekly boards for Ann Coulter's column until Yahoo shuttered their boards for Op-Eds. I found CU shortly before a major crash, then registered here , but never went back to CU.
-
I had been on CU for a while and then the Ronulans came. And this place needed pie and Cool Whip so....here I am!
-
I never heard of Conservative Cave until a couple of years ago, I'm on the DUFU Ping List at FR and I got the Ping about the Will Pitt/Bobo fight where Pitt threatened Bobo and was banned at DU, there was a link in the DUFU to CC so I clicked on it and really liked it here.
-

I'm glad you brought the pie, DixieBelle, or I may never have come here!
-
Coach let me know about the Cave, about two months after the creation (IIRC).
-
I was at CU (and still am on occasion) when frank invited me over here. It's more fun here... :-)
-

That's exactly how I got here. Same NB post you are referencing.

Long story
Break it down.

I was a member at FR and the "old" CU, but didn't really fit in...
I stuck my nose into CC one day...
found a pie on the kitchen counter...
and I knew this was the place for me.
My intro post: "I'll try to find something intelligent to say!" (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,44749.msg489966.html#msg489966) Sorry that didn't work out, folks.
