On my other forum, net friction, there is a longtime poster there who is of exquisite quality of conservatism/libertarianism. He would be an outstanding asset to this forum. I am counting on members here to go over there and invite him to become a member here. I would do it, but I consider my posting there solely under one forum name to be sacrosanct. So if I were to invite him, I am so well known there that the undesirables would see my invite, and be brought over through contagious association. Here is a recent posting of his that is representative of his acumen...

Based on this paragraph, I say "no dice":
That is to say, for most people, the world doesn't revolve around sex. Think of all the fat people, the ugly people, the people with medical conditions (low testosterone, female hormonal problems, or STDs) the older people, or people who have less than fulfilling emotional relationships, and many single people who simply choose not to have sex, or simply aren't interested in it anymore, if they ever were. (blows your mind to image, doesn't it?)
Your friend appears to reserve a healthy libido for a chosen few. I am not currently in a relationship yet I have a healthy, natural sex drive; despite being "fat" (6' and 290, I'll own that), "ugly" (I never got anywhere on my looks), "older" (standing in the shade of 50), with "medical conditions" (two hearing aids, arthritis, with two knee surgeries and a third in my future), and had a "less than fulfilling emotional relationship" (but never again). I suspect many of our fellow CCers feel they have one or more of your friend's disqualifications, yet they have healthy, active sex lives.
Why, again, would your friend be an addition to CC?
-
You scared me off with the libertarian bit. We do not need another Paultard here.
-
Scared the hell out of me, I thought you were going to ask for money. Not been here long enough to have a vote but, I trust your judgement.
-
I say invite him. I thought we were open to all thought. Unless they end up being a troll.
-
Based on this paragraph, I say "no dice":
I wasn't voting whether obumazombie's friend should join CC, I was stating I won't go to his website and invite him, as requested.

Bingo. Invite him yourself.

Bingo. Invite him yourself.
Well I agree with that. Send him a PM Obamazombie.

Well, that site doesn't have a pm feature, but I thought I explained why I consider myself to be restricted from inviting him. 2 reasons. 1st reason, I have never posted there anonymously, and consider it a point of honor to always use my forum name. 2nd reason if I invite him using my forum name there are colossal trolls there that will very likely leech on to an invite, and I would be ashamed to expose the forum to them. One more thing, I'm obumazombie. Not capitalized in honor of him not being worthy of the respect, and bum is integral to my forum name in honor of my father who would call any politician such as him a bum, although he didn't consider all politicians bums.
Big Dog, I appreciate your dissent, I can see how you could easily interpret what Shooting Shark said in that paragraph the way you did. I did not take it that way, I took it that very few people see sex in an obsessive all consuming central driving focus of their lives to the exclusion of other important aspects about people's lives. I hate it if that brought you any hurt or consternation.
Here is another sample of what I consider to be genius conservative/libertarian thought...
Shooting Shark...addressing more conservative topics in the same thread. (http://www.netfriction.com/DisplayMsg.asp?ForumID=91&Msgid=1814461&page=1&title=I'll%20be%20damned!%20%20Mr.%20FF...)
If it turns out no one is comfortable going there and inviting him here, and I get a general good response from the forum to the idea I do it myself, and the forum won't blame me for whatever trolls leech over in the process, I could be persuaded in that direction.

I understand what you are saying, but a brand new poster sending an invite is going to warrant the others to take a peek also - and why would this poster listen to a brand new poster?
Let the trolls comes. No one will blame you at all. Everyone is welcome here. They don't play well with others, then they will be dealt with by the mods.
-
Before you make an open invite...try asking if he has another means of contacting him.
Maybe you could open a throw-away email site (to delete after the trolls find you) and get him to email you.
I am not a fan of open board to board invites for membership. CC is the result of a Ron Paulian invasion. There is precious little patience for any Paulian here as a result.
Further if you plan do something like this, alert the mods, and discuss it with them. Lets do whatever we can to avoid a troll invasion. Thank you.

As we get closer to the convention the Paulistas will keep coming as they have their marching orders to do so. If you can't throw out CC on any political forum because you fear who will respond then we have no business on Al Gore's world wide internet. :-)

Send him an invite and leave the trolls to me :hammer:

Big dog I am trying to picture your appearance in my mind,----6 foot tall 290 pounds, not that much over weight , could loose some weight but with knee problems not easy to exercise.
2 hearing aids, now that is a problem that can be over come, I have a friend who when his wife went hard of hearing he taught her Mores Code. They learned to communicate with taps on each others palms. This couple could talk up a storm after a year or so --he got the idea as a Ham Radio user. Just holding hands they were talking away and no one knew it.
What is Ugly, few humans are ugly, beauty is is the eye of the beholder and ------My husband of 20+ years was so ugly he made my dog howl. Not his fault Bells Palsy had melted down one side of his face. I talked him into growing a beard of sorts and he looked great. My problem was the woman that had formerly ignored him now seemed attracted to him. Strange how this works, a man few woman check out, when they become engaged, all these woman begin to wonder why and put moves on them.
Relax babe, realise that the partner of your dreams man be much worse off then you, some one that is much like you handicapped or feels they are ugly. I am not talking of year worn drug addicts or those on parole, I am speaking of the every day plain Jane's that appreciate a man like you.
" Want to be married for the rest of your life, better marry an ugly wife/ husband they will love you true and never cheat on You "

Shit!!! You're hittin on Big Dog, ain't you?

OK, it's time to clarify again.
My point was that a healthy sex drive, and a healthy sex life, are not the exclusive province of thin, attractive, young, healthy people; which was my impression of the opinion offered by owebumazombie's friend. I accept that it may not have been the writer's intent to marginalize the rest of us.
I also appreciate the kind words, vesta, but they are unnecessary. I am single by choice right now.
I am looking for a woman who excites and challenges me intellectually, emotionally, and physically. My expectations are not about age, weight, education, fitness/absence of disabilities, or arbitrary ideas of "beauty", although I do like redheads and da boobiez. :naughty: I don't settle; I won't waste my time, my emotion, or my money on a woman who is unwilling or unable to engage me fully in all areas.
And I really can't say if I'm ugly or not, because that is purely subjective. So, here is the no-need-to-be-humble Dog:

And, vesta, if you are hitting on me- thanks!

Hi5 from one redhead lover to another. Oh, and boobiez are great also. :-)

Well actually I wasn't but after seeing your photos --- First gain some more weight, I like my men big. Second lets see your tats, One can tell allot about a person by their choice in body art. Third, write more story's, you are excellent in that field.
-
I love the Big Dog stories! You are a good writer, BD. I've always liked that gun photo too, and you're not fat!
As for the OP, I don't see how an invite from a stranger vs. from ozombie would make a difference in the trolls.
-
I say invite him. I thought we were open to all thought. Unless they end up being a troll.
Right. Yall are sounding so DUmpmonkeyish :panic:

I think Rush is so friggin' HOT just because of his brain and the way he talks. mmmmmmm  His money doesn't hurt either :naughty:

OK if nobody else will step in here, I, like Benny, feel compelled. To quote Ahhhnold in "Predator" "you are one ugly m***** f*****" (sorry my accent sucks).

Agree, what is healthy for one is unhealthy to another. Like a food allergy, some can be healthy eating peanut butter, others can die from it.
What is a healthy sex life, are Nuns living an unhealthy life style ?????
-
Not confusing, when you think about it. People with chronic health conditions (such as lupus, coronary heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, breast cancer, to name a few) can, and do, have libidos (healthy sex drive), and can enjoy sex to the satisfaction of both partner and self (healthy sex life).

If you're using peanut butter during sex, it's best to lock the dogs out of the bedroom.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Whoa, You do have a healthy sex life.
-
I had a different take from ozombie's friend. He says
That is to say, for most people, the world doesn't revolve around sex.
I didn't go chasing links, but what I thought of was all the gay people, especially at the DUmp, who are militantly gay. All they think is how GAY GAY GAY they are, and every thought is run through that prism.
You could say "the sky is blue," and they would say, "Yes, but what does that have to do with how fabulously gay I am???" That's why they hate the Log Cabin Republicans, and the GOProud. Those people think about economics, and other things, first.
-
I agree with that part, Karin. It's what followed that rubbed me the wrong way.
-
I'm not going to go to another site that I am not already a member of and register for the sole purpose of inviting anyone.
Just my take on the "request".

This forum is completely open, no registration required, and unless I am mistaken, this forum doesn't even have a registration option available.
I brought over another of Shooting Shark's impeccable conservative logic posts...
Shooting Shark from NetFriction on another owebuma shortcoming (http://www.netfriction.com/DisplayMsg.asp?ForumID=91&Msgid=1815757&page=1&title=President%20John%20Taylor%20for%20President!)
Unless I hear otherwise, from a lot of people, I am going to invite him, and let the chips fall if they are going to.

I was thinking of "healthy" in its strictest sense, and that would mean I can't have a "healthy" sex life, because I have high blood pressure. But your way of looking at it makes more sense. My way, if you even have a cold, you can't have a "healthy" sex life (for the duration of the cold).
The phrasing hit me oddly, is all. Bit of a diction Nazi here. :cheersmate:
And puns on a word in the sentence above in 1, 2....

Yeah, that's my take too.
If the guy can make it here on his own and participate, great. If not, hey, the internet's a pretty big place.
