Today I had the distinct pleasure of telling my RepubliCON employer to kiss my ****ing ass. They wanted to cut my part-time hours by more than 38% (I had been with them since 8/31/2011 and was awarded Employee Of The Month twice during that time). I told them to shove it. I am now unemployed and flat broke, but it was worth it. "When unfairness becomes the rule, resistance becomes a duty." - My Contribution to the Occupy Movement

A career lasting since 8/31/2011, down the tubes.

The other DUmmies may believe it went the way the cat guy describes it, but I think it isn't completely accurate.

I smell a mole.  No DUmmy would ever get past the initial "whiz quiz", to last that long under an eeeeee-vil Rethuglikkkan boss.

Either that, or he's trying to gather witnesses to vouch for him on his latest bid for unemployment bennies.

It was worth it, DUmmy?  You have your life ****ed up if you think it's worth it to be unemployed and flat broke.  I am sure your parents are so ****ing proud of your worthless ass that will now try to suck off them.  What a piece of shit you are and so worthy of the OWS movement.  Please God do not let me have a son like this.  How insulting to see the result of your parenting be like him.  :thatsright:  He thinks he did a good and smart thing.  :mental:

Dutch, please a small SPORK Alert wouldn't kill you would it? :panic:

Thankfully I wasn't eating or drinking something when I saw that.  I might have choked to death! :-)

I think there is more to the story than the DUmmy is letting on.

My guess is the DUmmy has been slacking and management figured it would cut dead weight and give those hours to someone more productive.

So rather than go from 36 to 20, or thereabouts, he would rather not have any job at all.  Now instead of having some money while he looks for a second job, he has nothing.  Real brilliant there, DUmbass

The DUmbass probably forgot that you don't get unemployment bennies when you QUIT.  (Assuming, of course, that any portion of this story has a foothold in reality.)

What gets me is all he had for 9 months was a part time job. No one can live on a part time job.

Sounds to me like he did the job just long enough to qualify for unemployment and deliberately got himself fired.
We are dealing with a professional unemployment leech here.

Probably not a failed drug test, the DUmmies writes like a flaming prancer and probably went drama queen on the boss, who had had enough of the little poufter by that point.

We are dealing with genius, CR.  Real Genius.

The same type of genius that brought us "shovel ready jobs", "recovery summer 2010". "economic stimulus", "green energy", Joe Biden, and $5 trillion of debt in 3 years.

We are just too stupid to realize it.   :mental:

2. Have you thought that maybe that is what they wanted you to do in the first place? Can you collect

unemployment now that you quit? They are a...holes for sure.

3. Yes, I'm quite sure that is what they wanted.

That occurred to me early on. So be it. I was happy to oblige. I knew full well were they up to. As for unemployment, it may be an option since I had an outstanding and on-hold claim from a previous and rather less obnoxious employer. I may soon be able to continue collecting on that claim. There was a problem (that's why it was on-hold), but that should be fixed soon if it has not already been taken care of. I only took this current (now former) job because I wanted to at least be making an effort to work while I worked on my primary job search. So much for doing the right thing. In any case, as you allude, these people are assholes.

Serial PITA is my bet.

On the plus side, now his former co-workers may be able to keep the same number of hours, or at least they won't lose as many as they would have.

I love how there's always a bright side, and someone who's bright and will discover it. Sounds like his co workers were better off without him. Another bright side. Really and truly, I'm not seeing the downside

High speed internet connection to DU while at work.  Perish the thought that *work* would interfere with playing on DU.

Bah, I'm looking for a job now, too.  For the first time since I was 13, I don't have work to do or worked lined up.  My employer hit the jackpot, they screwed up three contracts this year, including an enterprise contract so badly that the plant is shut down.  I'm fiscally conservative and have nest eggs and investments worth several years of pay available, they gave me a severance package worth two months not counting leave, and they are offering a settlement if I don't sue them for their foul ups.

Guess that's the difference.  I prepared for years, just in case.  Now, I got a covetous eye on money being made in aanother industry.  I'm going to enjoy a break and then get back to work.

Thank-you for correcting that little oversight in my worldview.  Now I know why I stay on the western side of the Mississippi River.  The Least Coast is even batshit crazier than I thought it was. :o

Everyone here knows I was Army at one point.  A SATCOM troop, which some may accuse of not being real Army.  I got out because I hurt my leg and couldn't be one of those leaders that push troops to do things that they themselves can not do.  I took a job in the defense industry in part because I wanted to serve my country by making sure the troops had the best equipment I could give them, the money isn't so good and the regulations are immense.  I put sixteen good years in between the Army and Defense contracting.  That's enough.

I'm really thinking of going into business for myself or maybe going roughneck for a few years.
