Title: CC the talk of the internets?
Post by: RobJohnson on May 11, 2008, 09:49:29 PM
Since the site that never bans any members, has banned members that can't see this thread, I am bringing this to GD....

TNO lets NU know:
Quote
Most of the old guard at CU have moved over to www.conservativecave.com.

Nope, not the "old guard," only those interested in joining the (insert youtube here)

have moved to Clietus's Cesspool. BTW, did Clietus tell you he'd let you hang around a bit longer if you shilled for him, TNO?

Ree asks about Rob C:

Quote
He didn't have a backup?

TNO:
Quote
Nah. I decided to stop participating at CC because the owner has issued a decree prohibiting members from voicing an atheistic point of view. I posted a link to CC because I figure that some people here might like it.

Philly:
Quote
Heh.

TNO:
Quote
In fairness, CC was not an amen choir... at least not up until last night. Oh well. I will have to check in on the site every now and then to see if John Matrix can surpass my bitchslap rating of -4502.

CW:
Quote
Too bad actually. Your posts in their religious forum were always interesting, as well as generating a good deal of entertainment. But, not suprising, as you weren't in sync.

Haaaallleelujah.

The admin speaks:

Quote
folks...it is a big internet and lots of forums that suit lots of tastes. let's not dis other forums here at NU. as surely as someone criticizes one, someone else will decide it needs defending and then boom...NU is the battle ground for a board war.

we create enough drama on our own. let's not import any, m'k?
TIA

And that right there explains why I'm perm banned at NU.

The FemiNazi...The Queen of Snark is running things now  :whatever:

She's got her own site now that she can sit up on all night and read each individual IP addie that logs on like she used to do at CU.

Oh and TNO...you might want to be honest and let everyone know that you were given a choice to stay...as long as you tried to engage in meaningful discussion that was ON TOPIC...and you left on your own because you couldn't play your little distortion games at will.

Doncha just love internet drama?  Better than any soap opera ever filmed.  It's interactive.

Oh my.

The nocturnally foul one uttered some not-nice things about us?

I'm going to have to re-evaluate my once-positive perception of the nocturnally foul one.

What is it about people, when one treats them with kindness and courtesy and good wishes, that they turn on one?

Most of us have a history with TNO.  There was already good reason to hold him in contempt.  That is why otherwise nice people (like myself) did not waste the generosity of my spirit trying to make nice with that anus opening here on CC.

Exactly.  Hey, if you can make a case for atheism, have at it.  I have seen great debates between theists and atheists (FWIIW, I think Christians do the best job of supporting theism, but that may be just a biased perspective).

TNO was just blanket ridiculing belief in God without providing any substance.  We won't put up with flippant ad homina -- especially from a child.

I got the every six months email from NU asking me to come back for a visit, and also an email from them explaining lounge rules in a way that I won't be visiting them again.  I don't know why that email bugged me so much, it seemed rational, but smelled.

Pity Cold warrior has a problem with this site.  He was pretty good over at Gator's place.

Yes you would.  You are a narcissist with a classic battered wife complex.  You want to be slapped around, but you want to think it was your idea, so you believe you are in control of how much it hurts.

Contrary to what some think, I don't take my membership at CC for granted. Despite how I might come across to some, I deeply appreciate the opportunity the owners and members of CC have given me to challenge their most deeply held beliefs. I'm not being sarcastic... I really mean that.

You know, I am really wounded.

Sad and forlorn and melancholy and sobbing in heartbreak.

Every time an offshoot of the other place was started, someone invited franksolich to join.

conservativecomfort, republicanoperative, liberalunderground, and of course our new home here.

And there's been a lot of offshoots of freerepublic too, where this was the case.

But nobody at neutralunderground ever invited franksolich.

It must be a pretty exclusive crowd over there.

I'm just guessing here but... I would be willing to bet that when Scott started NU, he chose not to invite CUers en masse for fear that doing so would have been perceived as an attempt to crush CU by stealing its members.

Actually, sir, Scott's wife and I never got along, after she made the comment about BadCat being the last person she ever wanted to meet in real life.

I took that personally, and hard.  BadCat's a nice guy, the salt of the earth.

Every community has that mentally challenged guy who rides around on a bicycle, the one everyone takes under their wing, and the firemen let him raise the flag in front of the station.

I love that guy!

Yeah, right, but it's not the same thing.

This is like one mere member of an exclusive country club inviting someone else to join.

In all other instances, the head man invited franksolich to join.

I'm just guessing here but... I would be willing to bet that when Scott started NU, he chose not to invite CUers en masse for fear that doing so would have been perceived as an attempt to crush CU by stealing its members.

they did invite CUers en masse.

And that sentence, sir, sums up all that is wrong with NU for me.

Can you be any more obvious?   :whatever:

Well, let me be the first to invite you to NU.

Why?  So he can discuss religion over there with ya, too. :-)

First place I saw this guy over there was in a religion post.  I'm sure it was a coincidence, since I only looked at about three threads, and was in a pissing match trying to get a straight answer from a lib.  But I did think it was funny to see him there.

Badmouthing CC at NU?

What an honor. We should each give TNO a bitch slap for his considerations.

Being bad mouthed at NU is like Jeffrey Dahmer telling us we have an eating disorder.

Contrary to what some think, I don't take my membership at CC for granted. Despite how I might come across to some, I deeply appreciate the opportunity the owners and members of CC have given me to challenge their most deeply held beliefs. I'm not being sarcastic... I really mean that.

Thank you. I just love it when Godless immoral fags come across as so condescending. It once again proves my theory of just how ****ed-in-the-head they are.
Every society has its cretins and social malformed freaks. Don't blame the Christians, blame Darwin and evolution for failing you.

Hey Frank, I think you have Melissa (one who I am assuming dissed BC) and Melanie (Scott's wife and a true sweetheart who is here by the way) confused.

By the way, you NEVER call Melissa, "Mel", but it's ok to call Melanie that.

I dunno; it was a woman with an "M," like Melanie or Marjorie or Melissa or something like that.

And a woman with authority.

This was in one of the silly lounge threads about which members one would most like to meet in real life.

Sometime the winter-spring of 2005-2006.

I thought Melissa was Scott's wife, and that Melanie was a refugee from Skins's island.

Oh well,  It was long ago.

But insults to BadCat (and others) remain engraved in stone, in this head.
