Lawyers: Can homeowners be held liable for actions committed by their Neighborhood Watch?
I have looked but can't find anything definitive. For example, I've read that the homeowner's association for a community or subdivision can be sued, and sometimes a judge can force the association to assess homeowners to pay the judgment. If every homeowner had to worry about having to pay a huge judgment (or buy special SYG insurance thanks to the NRA), it might help translate the problem into a language more people could understand.
I now wonder what happens if I have a George Zimmerman in the Neighborhood Watch of my subdivision. Am I responsible for what he does?
We knew this was coming all along... (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002466566)
It's all about extracting money from the many to the few. Always about the money to a ****ing liberal, and how they can exploit a situation to pry it out of innocent people.
Assholes.

cough, cough
The fact they publish this character's junior high school photo doesn't make him an innocent, and doesn't necessarily make his death a murder.
Someone, somewhere has a cute photograph of every thug who ever lived.
It's clear the main factor in all this uproar is that a bunch of 0bamaites smell a lawsuit.

Extracting money from those that have worked and earned it and giving it to those that have not while skimming off 65%. I am beginning to despise the useful idiots.

Money and political power is all they care about.
If they couldn't use this whole issue politically in some way, Trayvon would have just been another dead kid on the six o'clock news.

Like the 20+ black people murdered in Chicago last weekend...by blacks. B. Heusein 0bama doing for the USA what he did for the south side of Chicago only costing more money.

You read a judge can force the HOA members to collectively pay the judgment for the actions of an individual?!? OK, fess up. What primitive told you that nonsense?
An individual can sue a baloney sandwich, but that doesn't mean they'll win the case. And a judge holding the individual members of a HOA responsible for the independent actions of a single member? Show me a case where that's ever taken place.

The DUmmies may be barking up the wrong tree. I had read somewhere that Zimmerman did not belong to an official "Neighborhood Watch" , and that the place doesn't even have one. Zimmerman took it upon himself to guard the neighborhood.

That's been in the news--that he appointed himself as "Neighborhood Watch Captain." IMO, the other homeowners had nothing to do with this cop wannabe.
As it drips out that this cop wannabe was being pummeled by the individual he shot, expect some violence to flare somewhere. Probably brought on by "The Three Racketeers"--Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan (sp?).

Because dammit, we simply cannot have justice without some commas attached to the check!!!
Oh, and DUmmies, if an individual does something in a gated community/HOA development, and you try to sue the HOA, stand by to hear this:

Now, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that even if a member was part of the HOA, even then it would be pretty shaky to sue the HOA as a whole unless there was action on the part of the board as a whole. MAYBE then you might get a dime--but your lawyer would get most of that.
So, yeah--good luck getting the blood out of that turnip.

The Gullible primitive may be worth keeping an eye on. It seems to be polishing it's cred; perhaps throwing the proverbial hat into the ring?
