Yes, but how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop ?

I Like those, but don't like the orange and chocolate ones. Orange and chocolate should not be made into hard candies.

It used to be sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll. Now it's naps, food, and comfortable clothes.

Haha, a girl in matts class just informed me that it takes 1267 licks to get to the center of a tootsie roll POP. She actually counted and with this one I believe her. Haha, guess she knew i'd need that info this week. But wouldn't it depend on the length of the lick and temp of the tounge. ( I know I over think things but that's what I do!)

I suppose you could take medically-accepted norms for size and temperature and averaged the friction coefficient and force of the tongue to come up with an answer.
Sounds like a fun science project for some schoolkid (minus the math).

Exactly, I told my son to use the idea next year, but Nooooo he wants to do something involving airsoft, war and dehydration. Ummm I'm thinking that's a big ol no! ok if he wants to do camo vs coverage I'm good with that ... But not dealing with size of whelp based on distance of shot or time in field with no water.

Don't you know I like to confuse you... I started out talking about yer stupid tootsie roll pop post ... Um maybe if you would read the thread you would know. Ha... Jk it turned into a science project post without you knowing. Look up and you will see. Matt is like his ma and a do it your way, yourself type of kid.... He couldn't make it doing a how many licks project, he'd rather do shootem and see who can handle it project. ( that's my boy!)

I understood that, I have no idea what you were talking about specifically in your post. It's over my head.

Ok I'm a few drinks in, ... What don't you understand, my crazy son wants to do an airsoft science project based on pain inflicted Vs distance or the dumb chick who spent a night licking and counting a stupid tootsie roll pop to see how many licks it took to get to the center?! Clarify?

I go back and forth between straight and curls. I can't decide which looks better, or sexier, or less "I don't belong here in a po-dunk down in the midwest". Wait, I think WANT to look like that. :-)

I like the Tootsie Roll pop test better.
I don't know what grade your son is in, but maybe he should stick to something basic like ballistics for a school science project. It got Robert McNamara to the head of Ford Motor Company.

I'd buy you drinks if you walked up to me with curly hair. :p

I don't think Nerf guns have been scrutinized to the same degree 30.06 and 5.56mm ammunition has. :p
My math professor had a similar project with some of his other students about sawing down a tree in his yard and predicting where the top of the tree would land (he did eventually cut the tree down). At least in my experience, it doesn't take much to qualify as a "good" science project, but neither of my parents took calculus or physics. Yay, me. If you can take a basic scientific principle, make a short academic outline, and produce a real-world example, you're going to get an A.

Yeah, that's pretty much me. I think that annoys a lot of libs when my reaction is along those lines when they are all serious and trying to tell me how wrong I am.

I love it when a plan comes together. Sometimes it's fun to see it blow up.
