That's what my sobbing 7 year old great-niece told me tonight when I answered the call.
She said she just had to talk to somebody. How does one explain suicide to such a young child?
It was her 2nd cousin on her grandmother's side, no relation to me. But, this young man was also her Godfather. He was only 27, and left behind a wife, and two very young daughters.
I don't know the details, but please, everyone...if you know anyone whose demeanor has changed during these rough times, reach out to them. Let them know that you care. Many times, that is all a person needs to hear.
You may make more difference than you will ever realize.

she needs to vent her feelings in the way a seven year old does. Trivia, they do have a concept of death between seven and nine depending on the kid, average eight.
And yes it is important to listen to people as suicide does go up.
Oh and yes at times you can explain it, but it is very hard to do. Hell, the issue you need to watch for is guilt developing and the eternal question, could I have stopped it. If (or rather when) she says that... time to explain to her that there is nothing she could do, and that chiefly she has no guilt over it.
(I hated suicide calls for that reason)

How many people take the final exit just to avoid having to listen to the know-it-all nutcase Nadin in their life go on and on every minute of every day telling them something expert thing about every possible subject?
I wouldn't take the chance, though, 'cause what if it was like in A Scanner Darkly and you have a Nadin monster reciting your sins to you every minute of every day for an eternity?

I don't know the net address for nadinpedia, but if you were to check the library the Encyclopedia Nadin would probably be filed in the 817 division of the dewey decimal system.

According to wikipedia 817 "satire & humor" under the "American literature in English" section.
I realize that she basically speaks/types in nadinese instead of English, but they don't have a nadinese section. Plus, I think that nadinese, though difficult to understand, is sort of a derivative (if that's the proper word) of English
