Vagrants are subject to all kinds of diseases. I think she caught something and died in the Buick this past spring. Then the global warming summer weather hit, and she slowly decomposed and leaked through rust holes in the Buick floorboards. Now she's just a collection of bones inside two or three grasswirish overcoats.
A couple of DUmpmonkeys always claimed to have direct contact with the hobo. That was obviously a lie, since we haven't heard a squeak from them since the obnoxious bitch disappeared.

I miss her. I miss the way she could derail any thread on any topic and turn it to homelessness and berating the other DUmpsters for not caring, which they obviously don't, and it was great fun.
I especially love the way some DUmpsters tried to help her and she showed them the contempt and envy that only those who refuse to help their own self can harbor.
She was the best of them and she encapsulated all of them.

I think she was the creation of more than one person, basically spoofing the libs.

I still favor the theory (not mine, someone else's) that bobbolink was a fake, set up by someone (either left or right) to test the primitives' feelings about the homeless. Perhaps a graduate student somewhere doing a thesis on primitive attitudes. In fact, to me, that seems the most likely scenario.
The primitives are observed and studied a great deal more than they might think.

In my heart, I know she was fake, but much prefer to think of her as a greasy spot underneath an old Buick, in the parking lot of an abandoned strip mall somewhere in Colorado.

That is the most plausible explanation I have heard to date. If it was some grad student doing a thesis, regardless of party, they deserve an A+. I admit, being as soft hearted as I am, I got sucked in.......for a while. Then I found CC (thanks Bally), then I realized it was all :bs:

Well, just in case it ain't B.S., I hope someone stole the wheels off the BUICK. Denver is known as the Mile High City and therefore it's down hill to most any place she wants to roll the BUICK.

The only Buick she could live in would be a used Hearse. Roomy, big enough to stretch out in, curtins to pull at night and few cops will ticket a Hearse parked anywhere.
Think of the advantages, a used Hearse will be kept in pristine condition, cannot have a flat tire or motor run out of oil in a procession to the cemetery. Remove the casket rails and put in a small matterise, passenger seat and floor boards have room for personal items.
There may be advantages --taxes, registering a Hearse in some states. One has to pay to register and drive most anything, campers and vans cost more then a regular auto. What is the charge to register a Hearse??
Inspection and regular tune ups at local auto shops will be free or very cut rate, no one wants to stiff what they believe is the undertaker.
She can move at will state to state, even thumb their nose at the speed limit a bit. Perfect Buick to buy used, heck, perfect party van for College kids to buy.
Just a thought on what kind of Buick one can live in and the benefits to do so.
