A 16-year-old Arlington Heights boy told police he poisoned and killed three fish because he “didn’t want to leave any witnesses,†according to Arlington Heights police.
The boy is charged with residential burglary and cruelty to animals for his role in a Jan. 24 break-in on the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road. Another 15-year-old Arlington Heights boy and 17-year-old Des Plaines boy also face residential burglary charges, said Sgt. Mike Hernandez of the Arlington Heights Police Department.

Yeah, the famous talking goldfish of Illinois. :mental:

I plan to be cruel to many, many fish this year.
Just a heads up.
-
He killed Mr Limpet!

To be fair, it was Illinois, so the fish probably were registered voters.

And now, as DEAD fish, they'll be permitted to vote twice. :fuelfire:

That's a shame. The most intelligent creatures in the house at the time of the robbery died.

NONE OF YOU are invited to my house because the koi have threatened to leave if they feel endangered.

Not cruel. You are helping them to fulfil their (tasty) destiny. :-)

Well, the largest koi I have is probably a good five pounds or more.
We bought 10 koi with which to stock our pond several years ago. Hubby dug through the hard clay soil around here, also containing tons of rocks, BY HAND. I told him to hire a younger back or two, but nooooooo
Anyway, we have a 2500 gallon pond, and the original koi recreated so we now have at least 60 fish. And that's AFTER catching and giving away 24 to our local aquarium store we got the original fish from.
There's gold in our waters since the little suckers retail around here for approximately $25 apiece, not that the local store gave us anything. Taking them off our hands was enough of a favor. Those guys and gals eat through a few hundred dollars of food every month in spring, summer and fall. :bawl:

On the serious side, I have a great big ol' lake right close to me. Probably better eatin' fish than your koi

Yeah, it says right on their pricey koi food that it makes the fish not fit for human consumption.
Should I invite certain libs over instead? :-)
