Post by: The Hollywood NeoCon on February 18, 2011, 08:39:28 AM: Hello everybody. This is HNC's wife, Lisa.

My husband suffered a heart attack the afternoon of February 3 while driving home from his teaching position at USC. Thankfully, he was able to pull to the side of the road without causing an accident, and was transported to an ER, where he received immediate medical attention.

He is in stable condition, and is resting comfortably.

I am very sorry I didn't get online and inform you all of this sooner, but as you can understand, this was perhaps the most terrifying event any of us in our family have ever experienced. Thanks also to those of you who've sent messages expressing your concern over his absence. I now certainly understand why he has become so enamored of this site, and of all of you.

I will keep you posted as to his progress, and with God's grace, he'll be back to terrorizing the statists very shortly. :-)

Actually, I'm not totally selfish; a very large part of me wants Hollywood NeoCon to get well, with or without conservativecave, simply because he's a Gift to Humanity and common sense.

We finally got HNC (or, "Crocodile Man" to some of you) home yesterday afternoon. a little more than four days after his coronary artery bypass graft surgery. So far, he is recovering far quicker than most of us expected, so now the challenge is to keep him in line with regard to his lifestyle. He does indeed enjoy his Bombay Sapphire martinis and Newports, so this is going to require a great deal of heretofore unfamiliar discipline on his part. Rest assured, however, that I will do my best as his wife to ensure he adheres to this new regimen. Of course, I've already reminded him that under California law, I would be entitled to HALF of his assets in the divorce, should he decide that killing himself is far more preferable than remaining here in this life with his family (and his God-damned 928).

Again, thank you all so much for your kind words and wishes, and I will keep you abreast of his progress. :-)

I've got a buddy who had a quadruple bypass in mid-November. Non-smoker, occasional "heavy" drinker who is 48 with a family history of heart problems.

He obviously didn't take up smoking Newports, but he's able to have a few beers/cocktails now. IIRC, he helped us finish a few pitchers of beer last Thursday night.

So there's hope HNC! :cheersmate:
