So who do you shoot at?
Edited on Sun Feb-13-11 11:32 AM by Cyrano
When Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot in Arizona, there were people in the crowd who were packing.
Which brings up an interesting dilemma. Assume you're in a crowd and armed, someone gets shot, you don't see the shooter, and a few people draw their weapons. Who do you shoot at? Even if you're an off-duty law enforcement officer and see someone holding a gun at the scene of a shooting, who do you shoot at?
Guns are as American as apple pie and will probably be around as long as we have apple pie. So if you're trained in the use of firearms and are present at a scene of insanity where shooting is taking place(Columbine, a political assassination, and so many other instances), who do you shoot at?
Shoot your foot. :whatever:

5. I carry a gun....everyday...
practically everywhere I go...Legaly with a CCW permit..
For me, I would ONLY draw my gun in defense of myself, or loved ones.. and ONLY then in the face of a potentially deadly threat, IE, a attack by multiple assailants, or a single person with ANY weapon. In other words, my sidearm is not negotiating tool, it is the LAST RESORT.
In a group situation, it gets MUCH dicier. for example, if VIRGINIA laws applied in the Gifford's shooting.. Odds are I would NOT have drawn a weapon, UNTIL I WAS ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I HAD AN ACTIVE SHOOTER, AND HE WAS ACTING IN PLAIN SIGHT. Sadly this will probably be after he has shot some innocent people.
I am not a police officer, I don't have the authority or the training to tell anyone to "Freeze!!" or to "Drop it!" Someone could see me with my drawn weapon and shoot me!!! He already has his gun out and is actively shooting people..I need to draw mine. When I do, it will be to shoot to kill, their will be no warning... and once he is down, and "out of the fight" I will re-holster, and wait for the police to arrive, to do their reports.
Let me reiterate..
A: I must WITNESS him shooting innocent people...
B: If I draw, I must aim true, and shoot to kill...

I love gun threads at the DUmp. When my democrat friends tell me that democrats don't want to take my guns I send them the links to DU.

If you're in a crowd and gunshots ring out, you should probably shoot the guy who's holding his weapon sideways.

Well, lessee . . . If there's anyone that looks and smells as if they haven't had a bath in three weeks, they're probably a DUmb**** . . . and a potential target. :fuelfire: :killemall:

The fact that citizens like Virginia mountainman are armed scare me. Why even carry a firearm if all you're going to do at the first sign of danger is drop it and start running around hugging trees? Jesus.

Well, lessee: I seem to recall that the DUmbshit's conundrum is answered by the very example he used - the Gabriel Giffords shooting. The guy who brought down that scumbag was not a cop; he was an armed citizen, and his first takedown that morning was of another innocent bystander with a gun. Considering that the other armed bystander is still alive - and not suing - I think that the guy who took down Dumdik's pet lunatic showed the type of quick thinking and restraint that we Concealed Carry types train for in shoot/no shoot scenarios.
Fail again, DUmbass.

Even if they're not the original shooter, it seems like an opportune scenario to eliminate a few democrat votes.

No need for that here. In Texas we're about to get an ID requirement to vote. That alone will prevent at least 500,000 deceased Democrat voters from casting their votes next year.

In Illinois, they will just issue photo IDs to dead folks. It's fascist to disenfranchise people for simply dying.

Oddly enough, I saw that exact quote on an ACORN pamphlet

The fact that the DUmmy is armed and wants everything to be all sweetness and light before he pulls his weapon is reason enough to fail him for carrying it in the first place. It stands to reason that if you see someone in civilian clothes shooting at more then one person in the way we have seen these crazies do then its a safe bet that its not an undercover LEO doing the shooting.
-
The OP is typical of how DUmmies view people who own guns. A shooter attacks and 10 more citizens start shooting anything that moves making the murders far worse. The conclusions is obviously, no free citizen is smart enough to own a gun.

I got news, the first thing a LEO shouts is he's the Damn police and tells everyone else to duck! If the asshat in question doesn't follow those simple rules, put a cap in his ass!

I never forgot the Luby's Cafeteria Shootings in Texas, I guess at that time you weren't allowed to carry on you in Texas, a woman who lost both her Parents had her gun in her truck, she said if she had it on her that her Parents and many others would be alive. Not sure but I think the law was changed after that.

Just find the person with the DU tattooed on their forehead wearing a Che t-shirt and a copy of the Communist Manifesto stuck in their back pocket.

I didn't live here when that happened but I do remember it well. My husband has his CCW permit. Now I just need to work on getting mine.

If you're at a DUmmie protest....anything that moves. It's a target rich environment.

That woman was Suzanna Gratia Hupp. That shooting spurred her to become a state representative and a very strong 2nd amendment rights advocate.

I remember that well. I was stationed at Fort Hood when that happened. My buddies and I drove out there and sat on the berm on SH 191 in silence as hearse after hearse rolled up. I thought it was very touching that each victim got their own ride. I figured they would have loaded them all into a reefer truck.

There's a lot of that type of mentality among the Carry permit holders in Minnesota. I've not gotten around to obtaining my Texas permit, but I do keep a gun with me in my truck pursuant to Texas laws. If someone has a gun and is going to hurt someone else or me, and I can make it to my weapon, they're going to die. Period.

Works for Zombies too.
