Why the **** didn't they address the bush tax cuts
a year and a half ago? It's a failure of leadership. Not that there's anything new about that. They could have dispatched this issue with ease.

1. During the worst financial crisis in our lifetimes?
Probably not the best time...
It should have been done instead of forcing ObamaCare and the Stimulus package through. The economy would have been in better shape if this was done 18 months ago. Obama doesn't care about the economy, just passing his liberal agenda.

2. No, the tax cuts just added to the crisis. nt
No, but uncertainty about taxes and ObamaCare have hurt the economy.

7. People were fearful they were going to lose their jobs and homes
And Congress is going to debate raising taxes?
Seems unproductive. Hell, we lost the House anyway though so what do I know.
The house was lost because of Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

9. ridiculous.
that's just more repuke crap. the tax cuts were supposed to be a temporary measure and not giving huge breaks to the wealthiest among us would hardly impact people when it comes to losing their houses.
Too bad you DUmmies have fallen for the myth that the Bush tax cuts were only for the wealthy.

10. Perception v. Reality
It would be a mistake to pass TARP and Stimulus and then tell people their taxes were going up.
The DemonRats want to raise taxes?

16. "raising taxes"? How about canceling tax cuts for the richest 1% of Americans!!!???
The additional revenue would HELP the economy and the govt and the deficit...
Cancelling all of the tax cuts would do more. OTOH slashing spending would be even more productive. Politicians never met a tax dollar they weren't willing to spend , two or three times.

After ten years of the donks hysterically screaming that it was only tax cuts for the rich, suddenly the commies find out there were way more cuts for the lower and middle class.
I'm not calling the donks liars, I'm calling them ******* liars.

The reason it is do difficult to understand DUmmy thinking is because those of us in the rational world understand the concept that if A is true then sometimes B must be false.
DUmmies in their never ending quest of "gimme" economics and life out look will believe whatever they think will accomplish that end even if it means believing 2 things that are mutually exclusive.
Ending unemployment benefits is bad because that money will be spent and that will stimulate the economy :whatever: but then in another thread go on how spending money at Christmas is an evil plot to enrich the sinister wealthy.
In other words free money to spend on ME=good
Spending to give to someone else=bad.
It goes on and on that way.

Get this: Not extending Unemployment Benefits will cost 600,000 jobs (http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/801-economy/131683-white-house-touts-economic-benefits-of-extending-unemployment) , according to the White Mosque.

Exactly...no sane person could come to that conclusion short of a desire to believe the impossible for personal reasons.
On edit...
Everyone should read that article thundley linked to.
You will think you have entered a Twilight Zone.
