I do love their anguish, but if the next election was tomorrow, almost every one of them would show up and dutifully vote for Obama, like the unthinking little robots they are.

15. So we took impeachment off the table When that was said by Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer it should have been a very big indication of exactly where the new Democratic Party was headed.
What was that all about, kumbaya, appeasement or cover-up too? I'm really starting to believe that the real power brokers are not with either Party but something way above them and so far above us that we're oblivious and naive enough to think Party will make a difference. If I'm stepping across the line by being critical of my Party let me know. I'm becoming more than very cynical and stories like this don't help.
Utt-ohhhh. This primitive doesn't seem happy.

jail,
What is this, Les Miserables?

This is 1 of the few times I've actually liked something that Obama did.

Sadly, you are very close to the basic problem of their worldview. Most of them really do see things through a highly-unrealistic and hyper-dramatized lens, seeing themselves in the hyper-romanticized role of the suffering poor, and they really do equate the American working class to the oppressed French poor, and corporations/Conservatives to the rich and heartless aristocracy.
Only an idiot with the most superficial and distorted knowledge of human affairs, modern history, and economics imaginable could really think this way, of course, which explains why the DUers so universally share this outlook.

It's the end, logical, result of them being told, and believing that every missed oppurtunity and every failure they have ever suffered was the result of someone else beating them out of what was theirs. When they couldn't find that person, rather than question the belief and try to get beyind it, they made up boogey men to comfort themselves. If it wasn't their fault, then it had to be the fault of those who have anything more than them.

I have mixed opinions on this - what Obama did is what every American President should do, and probably has done. But it wasn't for G.W. Bush's benefit - it was for his own - once he is out of office and stones start getting turned over, Obama will expect the same courtesy extended to him.

H5 for that Karin. :-)
