Since we have a pet peeve that has lasted for pages and pages what is a pleasure that you have that you love? Mine is sleeping in on a rainy day and staying in my pj's

Waking up early on a Saturday, and brewing some good coffee. When the weather is nice, drink it on my patio. When it is ooky, on the sun porch. And, I put half and half in my coffee that morning. Normally, I just drink it plain black.

This thread has shortbus potential. :yahoo:

Ya think I just thought it would be nice to see something fun nothing dirty :naughty:

Pulling my truck into the garage and sitting on the tailgate with my wife and dog in a thunder storm.
-
Climbing out on a rock outcropping and watching the clouds go by.

I like that. And would add sitting on my porch during a thunderstorm. As I don't have a truck, and my garage is filled with old cars.

On the beach, listening to the ocean . . . no better stress reducer for me.

Nailing a difficult, technical, demanding solo. Hard.

The company of children. Whether they are running around screaming, making a mess of their pancakes or pizza, or snuggling on the sofa with a book or a video.
Since my wife and I are nearing 50 without having been so blessed (and adoption being prohibitively expensive), it is our joy to note when our friends and relatives have grown tired of their children, and "give them a break" for a while. An afternoon. A weekend. A week.
If you came to our house you could assume we have two, a boy and a girl. Not so...but we have made our spare bedrooms such as would be comfortable for them, filled with our own childhood books and toys.
And I dare anyone to call us "wierd".
-
I like morning nookie, however, the wife does not. :bawl:

Gasp!
Why not anything dirty?
That's the first thing that popped into my dirty nasty mind!
Okay ... non-sexual pleasure ... hmmmmm .. thinking ... thinking ...
Oh, I know!
Having my husband and kids at home with me during the evening hours. With this activity and that activity, work and play and blah blah blah ... the evenings with everyone home are rare. Last night, I got mucho pleasure from all of us sitting in the living room talking and laughing.

Opera especially Verdi and Wagner.
I'm stoked the Met now lets you see operas at movie theaters. I am looking forward to see Die Walkure and Il Trovatore in the spring. Wish I would have realized it in time to see Das Reingold last month.
Hope to see Macbeth sometime which is my favorite of the highlights CD's I have.

This is a weird video because, for some reason, Dr. House comes in at the end.

If you're already familiar with all the Black Adder series, then feel free to BS me for this explanation, but Hugh Laurie plays the Duke of Wales, soon to be Mad King George the IV in Black Adder III. He's also in Black Adder II and IV -- just in case you were curious . . .

I would never BS anybody for indulging me in my own silliness.

Having a great cup of coffee in the morning. That usually sets the tone for the rest of the day. :-)

If I told anyone here, none of you would speak to me anymore.... :whistling:

In June just after the snow melts, sitting on the front porch. The wildlife is just awesome to watch. The early mornings are the best..
-
June! By June, it's 90° here. :-)
I finally thought of something to put in this thread. The first days of spring and fall. The middle of summer and the middle of winter I can do without.

Early March or April morning , standing on the bow of a flats boat, out on the flats off of Key West....just as the fish start to wake up and move about in the shallow water.
Casting out, slowly reeling in a neon green lure with a great little wiggle.....zippppp, grab....a 3-4foot barracuda takes off with my lure.
Bringing him into the boat....knowing he's the first catch of the day, hoping he's the first of many, and that he's the biggest catch of the day.
Collecting $60 from M at the end of the day....for kicking his ass all over the flats. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

It only happens if barracuda is the species of choice. He kicks mine if it's bonefish. It's unpredictable for tarpon and permit.

Having my little girl come over to me, jump into my arms, and say, "I love you, Daddy."
Glee. Don't ask why. (Maybe it has something to do with the next one.)
Nailing a difficult tenor line, or solo, at Mass, after working most of the bugs out the week before.

Knowing I dont have to be anywhere but home for a entire day and the kids and I can veg infront of the tv or play a family game of Sorry is a blast

Seeing my baby girl's face first thing in the morning. There is something about that morning baby love. O-)

Putting on a backpack and escaping into the mountains with my camera away from the day hikers.
It's peaceful out there.
Of course, I have no camera, backpack, supplies or mountains at the moment. :banghead:
Guess I need to hit REI and an electronics store and move back to the Northwest.

For me the greatest pleasure came in threes.
Hearing my babys cry after birth, The very warm blanket placed on me after the birth and the cup of tea given to me to drink.
Today, a fire in the fireplace as a blizzard roars about the house, a good book, the smell of Turkey cooking, bread baking all at the same time.----HEAVEN!!!!!

My wireless connected laptop sitting on the left arm of my Lay-Z-Boy recliner...
A VERY strong left arm/hand...
Infinite Internet porn...
The SyFy HD Channel on the LED-LCD HD TV in front of me...
