...and our production company is permitting the staff to wear jeans every day in October, as long as we're wearing something pink. Wanting to be a team player, of course, I decided to join in the fun.
Just how well do you think my new shoes are gonna go over??? :-)

These are, quite possibly, the best shoes I have ever owned.
(Good thing I"m considered management, huh? :rotf: )
Best damned $40 I ever spent...

Too bad they don't have a Sarah Palin autograph on them. :)

Those are sooo "teh Ghey"...... Of course, I'd expect someone from California to wear something like those. You gonna wear a pink tutu with pink tights, too??

Are those Converse?

Thong, actually. While he's stuck in bumper-to-bumper on the 405 in his Prius, sipping wine coolers.

I think they rock :-) Gotta take a photo of your tootsies in them for us.
-
Are those Converse?
Yup, they're totally Chuck T's.
Oh, and bitchslaps to Thor and Sparky for being typical little shits. :bird:
-
When I went in for my weekly chemo treatment on Friday I got me a blue rubber bracelet for breast awareness Month. There were a lot of breast to be aware of there.

Yeah, I do. Anything pink on a guy, I laugh out loud. Pink ties, socks, shirts, etc. It's just too weird for me. I've got to say though, never seen a man wear pink shoes.
I can/will excuse men wearing pink in October though. It is Breast Cancer Awareness month. ;)
Hollywood gets a pass from me.

Whatever you do, if you are pro-life, then please do not donate to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
Like many families, my grandmother and great-grandmother both had breast cancer. The issue of wanting to fight what harms your family or friends is noble. So when I tell people that I do not support Susan G. Komen an organization that exists to “fight breast cancerâ€, I normally get the look of one: why would you abandon your family or two: oh there goes one of those extremist.
However, my reasons are not that extreme, but rather principled.
I'm sure many of you reading this article have also been confronted with the issue of if I ‘m pro-life then how can I support an organization that supports the nation’s leading abortion provider. Hopefully, the following principles can shed some light on how to respond sympathetically, yet firm with why you cannot wear pink, or join the race, or all the various ways that Susan G. Komen is supported.
Principle # 1 Don't give to organizations that promote the shedding of innocent blood.
If this were a list of commandments, we could start with Thou Shall Not Kill. However, Proverbs 6:17 states that one of the seven things God hates are hands that shed innocent blood.
Unfortunately, Susan G. Komen has given over $3 million dollars between 2003 and 2008 to Planned Parenthood which is the nation’s leading abortion provider.
While Susan G. Komen makes claims that these grants go for breast exams, once the funds go to Planned Parenthood they are fungible. For example, you can throw two twenty dollar bills into a purse one from a friend and one from your own account, but when you go to pay the light bill you use both.
The same is true with Planned Parenthood’s money it receives from Komen. Whenever someone applies for a grant they can say that while this $5,000 is going to breast cancer research, 20 percent of that money is going to pay for administrative costs like keeping the lights on and paying rent. So in essence, the money that people are raising to fight breast cancer is also going to keep the lights on at Planned Parenthood.

Oh, I'm way ahead of you on that. There are plenty of other organizations devoted to this cause, and most of them don't feel the need to alienate a significant portion of their possible donor base by politicizing everything.
-
I'm not going to quit buying M&M's, just because they support SG Komen.
I don't however, give SGK any other donation.

Too bad they don't have a Sarah Palin autograph on them. :)
He could always have his wife fake one for him...

When is testicular cancer awareness month?
Oh, there isn't one...
Funny thing, that...

****ing wine coolers man!
You CANNOT get drunk on wine coolers. Lord knows I spent thousands of dollar$ trying!
Assholes that invented wine coolers should be shot!

Well, they do/did call it the NFL Central Division the "Black and Blue Division". No room for pink, since everything's already black and blue.
:uhsure:

Can I ask that you all keep my sis in their thoughts/prayers? She's going in for surgery on Thursday. They found a mass which was diagnosed as an infiltrating carcinoma, 1.5 cm. They're going to remove it along with surrounding breast tissue followed with chemo and radio. She had melanoma 10 years ago and we were optimistic that it was over, but unfortunately it's spread.
Our mother died of this horrible disease in 1992 and I really do appreciate what Neo is doing. Every penny counts.

Habs, consider your sister in my prayers. To quote another member of our community "Cancer is a sucking suckfest." I am sorry for what your sister and your family is going through. We also have a thread for Prayer Requests, and another one, Cryin in My Beer, if you just feel like venting. Hang in there.

Echoing what Deb says....
Please do add your sister to the Prayer Requests....some may see it there and not here.
Cryin' in My Beer is a great place for venting....we'll be there for you. We're all good at sending virtual hugs too.
Prayers sent for your sister and your family.....
