From KFI-AM Los Angeles...

President Jimmy Carter has been transferred to Metro Health Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, after experiencing an unknown health issue on a flight to the city, an airport spokesperson said.

Jackie Mayo, the public information officer for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, said the 39th president was transferred to the hospital at approximately 11:30am ET after paramedics met Carter's plane upon its arrival.

Carter was reportedly in Ohio to autograph copies of his new book, "White House Diary," at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in the suburb of Lyndhurst.

Gonna go check out the pity party at the DUmp.  I was going to post an unflattering picture of Jimmah, but decided not to.  Google images has quite a few.

The photo of Jimmuh that I distinctly remember is of him essentially collapsing across the finish line after having run a half marathon.

He did NOT look "presidential".  :whatever: Instead, he looked like the whiny pissant that he is.

6. The BEST PERSON to occupy the Oval Office since FDR, and maybe longer. We should have

learned back then, when the Dems as much as the pukes, sabotaged most of what President Carter tried to accomplish, that the Democratic party is not really on the side of "the people" but merely exists to play good cop to the rethugs' very, very, very bad cop.

Mole or moron, you choose (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=9215776&mesg_id=9215841)

I agree, but while I may loathe the man in the office, I cannot help but maintain a healthy respect for the office itself.

The man accomplished something I could never hope to (he got elected), even if he managed to FUBAR.

During Cahtah, the price of gas increased 3 fold due to the fact his regime decided to tax the piss out of it! I worked in my Dad's truck stop in the late 60's and it went from 19.9 to 54.9 in a matter of months!

Cahtah was responsible for the economic downturn that led to the crisis!

Off road fuel went from 15.9 cent per gallon in October of 1974 to a $1.39.9 by 1980. It went up about a $1 per gallon under carter.

Maybe he knew his time was getting closer, and that is why he has been speaking out so much about his missed-presidency.

It was just as bad in 78 and 79...google "Windfall Profits Tax".

And oh so many other highlights, such as his "malaise" speech, boycotting the 1980 Olympics, telling us to "put on a sweater", and of course, who could forget:

Thank You!! While the Carter Years were extremely lean years for the military, I don't recall any gas shortages. Actually, my first tour in the Navy was, by far, the best tour I had. Carter wasn't too worried about us Sailors having a little fun. 1980 and subsequent just got further & further inundated with BULLSHIT. Almost got out in 85 and again in late 89. At this point, I'm glad I didn't.

In '68, we were sellin' Road diesel for 17.9. In '70 I think we were up to 38.9. This was Colo., so it must vary per state. Cahatah is the asshole that showed the states they could tax the piss out of it for the simple reason of, "what are they gonna do, quite buyin' it?". Every congress since has raised the tax!

****in' bastard!!!! It was the start of federally taxed petroleum. They've never looked back! They see it as a cash cow now! Same thing happened to cigs in the 90's!!!

That energy crisis in 1980 was a factor in the early 1980s recession, the worst prior to the current one.

I wish I had the picture of the gas station manager in California that showed him filling gas while armed with a .44 Magnum Automag like Clint Eastwood used in "Sudden Impact". It has the then current price sign in the picture too. I remember when they were lines of cars on TV waiting to get gas. Around here I didn't see any but they were there.
