my "hippy dippy shoes"
I work with a group of very conservative people. You all know the story...
Yesterday one of my coworkers; I'll call him Bob said to me, " you sure got hippy dippy shoes"
I smiled at him like always because we work as a team and getting along is pretty important to me
"yes" I said, "I guess they are"
he remarked to the guy next to him "she didn't take that as an insult, I guess"
the other guy responded "I think she took it as a compliment."
Bob continued with his poor choices of words and wit, and I went back to my desk but then a little light came on...
"uh, Bob," I asked, "where were YOUR shoes made?"
he took his shoe off and responded "China"
"Well, MY shoes were made in Corvallis, Oregon, see, it says right here, 'Made in the USA' "
Bob didn't say anything else after that.
The other guy came up to me and started asking me questions about other places where you can buy American made goods.

2. Perfect. But even whe you counter their bullshit with facts and reality, it has no effect.
At least the other co-worker may have learned something about American-made goods. And very maybe, about the hypocrisy of the reich.
Those are shoes? Those look like slippers made by poorly coordinated children.

They look like they're made from bull scrotums.
I was thinking they look like they were made by the same people that make drawstring bags.
She paid $63 for those ugly shoes? I've spent a lot more than that on shoes/boots but they actually look good. I'm shocked that DU isn't having a collective fit over someone having $63 to spend on shoes.
I try and spend less than $30 on shoes. KMart or Walmart is good enough to buy tennis shoes for me.
I bought a pair of sandals at target for $12 and I've worn them just about every day this summer.
Theyt look better than these darn things I see a lot of people wearing

What are those fugly shoes classified as? They look like mules with an elastic back and not all that comfortable to me.
I seriously doubt this happened, either - people who work in offices don't care about someone else's footwear, especially the men. I think the OP there just wanted to post a pic of her new shoes for some reason.
I wear tennis shoes at work, and the chemicals and other things are hard on shoes, and in general I'm hard on shoes, which is why I won't spend much for them.
My wife will lok for shoes at different places at the mall, then she ends up buying some from either KMart or Walmart, too. She's easy to please, I think I'll keep her. :)

I've had the same pair of New Balance sneakers since 2006. There isn't much left of them but they still work.

I buy New Balance shoes. Made in the USA, too. :cheersmate:I make a shitload of home brew.
You can usually get a pair of them on sale for under $40.

Hey, hey, hey! My bull's scrotum looks better and bigger than that!
ETA:
BTW, I have to wear orthopedics so I pay upwards of $150 for 'em. Of course they're custom from the local shoemaker! Suck on that, Hippy Dippy!
Hell, even the screws in my back are made in the U.S, of A! Beat that one DUmbass!
Think about it:
YOUR bull's scrotum: Made in the U.S.A.
YOUR scrotum: Made in the U.S.A.
*MY* scrotum: Made in the U.S.A.
DUmmy's scrotum - Doesn't exist...
...nuff said....
