It was a she, and she sort of sounded like Patty Smythe...actually, it might have been her...and she might have been in a band named Scandal at that time when she did the song...and went out on her own after that.

No problem  :-)

He also changed the lyrics to a Dixie Chick's song..."If I Fall"...he changed that to "Lick my  :censored:"  From that point on, THOSE were the lyrics, because they actually fit better than the original ones do.

I did one of his beloved Beatles songs (which are TOO easy to do btw). I don't remember what I came out with or which song it was either, but I DO remember that HE didn't like it!

Disclaimer: I have no ill feelings towards the Beatles. Just did this to give my husband a taste of his own medicine. Carry on, please.

I'm not old or new but middle school fifth grade like junior high,
I don't know mofo if y'all peeps be buggin' give props to my ho cause she all fly,
But I can take the heat cause I'm the other white meat known as 'Kid Funky Fried',
Yeah I'm hung like planet Pluto hard to see with the naked eye,
But if I crashed into Uranus I would stick it where the sun don't shine,
Cause I'm kind of like Han Solo always stroking my own wookie,
I'm the root of all that's evil yeah but you can call me cookie,

I'm not black like Barry White no I am white like Frank Black is,
So if man is five and the devil is six than that must make me seven,
This honkey's gone to heaven,
But if I go to hell then I hope I burn well,
I'll spend my days with J.F.K., Marvin Gaye, Martha Raye, and Lawrence Welk,
And Kurt Cobain, Kojak, Mark Twain and Jimi Hendrix's poltergeist,
And Webster yeah Emmanuel Lewis cause he's the anti-christ,

and.....
"It's Tricky"

This beat is my recital
I think it's very vital
To rock a rhyme
That's right on time
It's tricky tricky yo here we go

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

I met this little girlie, her hair was kind of curly
Went to her house to bust her out, I had to leave real early
These girls are really sleazy, all they just say is please me
Or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said it's not that easy

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky
It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

In New York the people talk and try to make us rhyme
They really hawk, but we just walk, because we have no time
And in the city it's a pity, 'cause we just can't hide
Tinted windows don't mean nothing, they know who's inside

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky
It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

When I wake up people take up mostly all of my time
I'm not singing, phone keep ringing so I make up a rhyme
I'm not bragging, people nagging, 'cause they think I'm a star
Always tearing what I'm wearing, I think they're going too far
A girl named Tara follows Jared every gig we play
Evil dissed her and dismissed her, now she's jocking Spanky
I ain't lying, girls be crying, 'cause we're on TV
They even bother my poor father, 'cause he's down with me

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky
It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

We are not dumb, we don't use drugs, but you assume on your own
They offer coke and lots of dope, but we just leave it alone
It's like that y'all, but we don't quit
You keep on, rock shot, 'cause this is it.

C'mon party people,
Ohh Ohh,
Everbody say ho,
Ohh Ohh,
C'mon party people,
Ohh Ohh,
Everybody here we go.

and.....
"It's Tricky"

This beat is my recital
I think it's very vital
To rock a rhyme
That's right on time
It's tricky tricky yo here we go

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

I met this little girlie, her hair was kind of curly
Went to her house to bust her out, I had to leave real early
These girls are really sleazy, all they just say is please me
Or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said it's not that easy

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky
It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

In New York the people talk and try to make us rhyme
They really hawk, but we just walk, because we have no time
And in the city it's a pity, 'cause we just can't hide
Tinted windows don't mean nothing, they know who's inside

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky
It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

When I wake up people take up mostly all of my time
I'm not singing, phone keep ringing so I make up a rhyme
I'm not bragging, people nagging, 'cause they think I'm a star
Always tearing what I'm wearing, I think they're going too far
A girl named Tara follows Jared every gig we play
Evil dissed her and dismissed her, now she's jocking Spanky
I ain't lying, girls be crying, 'cause we're on TV
They even bother my poor father, 'cause he's down with me

It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky
It's tricky to rock a rhyme
To rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky tricky

We are not dumb, we don't use drugs, but you assume on your own
They offer coke and lots of dope, but we just leave it alone
It's like that y'all, but we don't quit
You keep on, rock shot, 'cause this is it.

I found out on another site of one ofthe other songs they did. D'oh

I listened to One Fierce Beer Coaster (http://www.amazon.com/Fierce-Beer-Coaster-Bloodhound-Gang/dp/B000000OWJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1206195095&sr=1-1) recently.  It's a fun album -- those guys are pretty talented (more than the Beastie Boys).  I liked the second album but haven't listened to their newest one.

Hey, I could change the lyrics to John Lennon's Imagine...

Imagine there's no liberals...it isn't very hard to do.
Imagine allll the sheeple, living in quarantine....

I'm no ShcadeMeister when it comes to this stuff...I'm rusty  :lmao:

Hey, I already did that!

Imagine there's no gender,
It's easy if you try,
No penis between us,
The vagina's just a lie,
Imagine all the people,
Wond-ring how to pee-e-e-e-e.

Well, there was no You Tube back when he did it -- I used to listen to it on Dr. Demento.

I think the Knack had more than one hit.  Maybe my memory is wrong but it seems like they hit it big and burned so very bright for a very short time and then were gone.

The other song I remember that was a pretty big hit was Good Girls Don't.  And I think I remember a couple of others but who knows?  That was a long, long time ago and Andy Kaufman was still alive and doing crazy stuff like wrestling with women and Heartbeeps.  And Casey Casum was doing America's Top 40.  And Doctor Demento was on Sunday nights.  The entire cast of Star Trek was still alive and just started putting out big screen Star Trek movies....

Oh, it was a glorious time to be alive when the Knack hit it big.  I guess the closest thing the young people of today had was Oasis.

That song was created by now other than Chip Davis, the man who is Mannheim Steamroller, probably the most successful New Age group ever.  IOW, Convoy was a Mannheim Steamroller song.

It looks like they had another single go to Number 11. I don't know if that's a hit or not?

Does the Snoopy Vs Red Baron Christmas song count as a separate hit?

Pretty much a clone of the first song with a lyric rewrite and a slightly different refrain.

I found a portion of it here.

It's interesting that the Guardsmen also did a cover of Johnny Horton's
"The Battle of New Orleans". I may have to order the CD.

I have his Greatest Hits CD.  I was suprised, considering he only had one hit.  I bought it for Convoy, I grew up the son of a trucker, and loved the movie.  It reminds me of old times, and drives my wife insane.  SO it's a twofer. :-)

I did......"Swinging Medallions"...'Double Shot of my Baby's love'

When I went off to college the boy staying next to me in the hotel had played in that band. They had one hit, got popular around the southest and he quit. He was a little shy to say the least. .......but he played some mean classical stuff on his Gibson Dove. .....and when he got a little drunk, he played Hamk Williams "SR" stuff all night long. I tried to keep his liquor content at just the right level for "MY" taste. :-)
