Title: Political Compass Test
Post by: Miss Mia on March 08, 2008, 03:10:19 PM
I know we've all done this a time or two, but I thought it would be interested to see where all the CC members stand.

I got:
Economic Left/Right: -1.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.77

Oh geezuz.

The last time I took this, a little less than a year ago when the greedy primitive posted it on Skins's island, I was smack in the center, but one line further down, from this instance.

Yeah, I am too.

Then again, those questions basically made you pick sides.   There are some issues I am neutral on, so I think that skewed me towards being more authoritarian.  :mental:

I'm kinda surprised that more of us aren't further to the right and down toward libertarian.

Some of the questions were loaded to provide a certain bent but to answer honestly didn`t necessarily mean that was the only reason.

"the only social responsibility of a company should be to deliver a profit to its shareholders."

I wouldn`t exactly agree to that statement because defining social responsibility is complex.
To a lib it means give aways or happily complying with punitive taxation.
To me it means providing a solid, stable economic base to a community which the lib definition would stifle.
So we both would disagree but for opposite reasons yet the charted result will be slanted to the lib mindset.

I'm at the top of the Authoritarian list so far.

I blame it on the primitives.

I'm fairly strong in religious beliefs, which tell me no man has the right to deny another man existence.

But then on the other hand, the more I go over to Skins's island to listen to the primitives, I'm getting to where I silently wish the primitives would just voluntarily commit mass suicide.

I think a lot of my so-called "left" leaning tendencies ran socially (sexuality).  I don't necessarily see a problem with homosexuality, other than the fact it's shoved down our throats, no pun intended.  I do believe that what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom or on the internet is perfectly fine.

If that makes my tendencies more liberal, so be it.

I'm more conservative than DU or Kos.   DU had this posted in GD yesterday, that's where I saw it and thought it would be neat to do over here too.  http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2976525 (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2976525)

Yeah, that was something I noticed.  I took the test before, but wanted to take it again to see how I changed (moving to the right, and continue to do so, thank goodness).   They removed her name from the group.   :whatever
