Hmmmmmmmmmmm........I guess nobody was payin' attention.

Mods, please remove this as it's only taking up space that can be used for something else.

I truly am surprised!

Not from what I saw. Even he realizes a third party will split the vote.

My life is ruled by Barney and Dora during the day. I try to catch Beck after she goes to bed when they repeat it later. I am sure my 2 year old does not care what Palin has to say, however awesome she is! :-)

Sorry, got here late.  We should do more *live* threads  :cheersmate:

I did see the show, just wished that Glenn let Sarah talk more.

True conservatives/tea party patriots should be challenging RINOs in primaries, let the people decide !

Watched part of it, and Beck, for all of his virtues, conducts a truly lousy live interview.......

YMMV

Hi,

I TIVO'd the show and just watched it.  Indeed he said if the Republican party gets on track....and Glenn interjected it is a pretty big IF..which is true.

I was surprised by the show, it was not quite what I had expected.  For some reason I thought the two of them would launch a salvo or two at Obama but it was really mild.

As a personal aside, they talked about another George Washington emerging, reluctant to serve but someone that the public would indeed follow.  I suspect it would be Schwartzkov or Tommie Frank only after we have had all hell break loose.  It would have to be someone the military would have no problem following.

I am really anxious to see what happens when Palin starts raising some issues.  She seemed to get it on the fact the average American feels totally disinfranchised because their elected representatives are no longer listening to them.

My biggest frustration was the fact they did not dwell on the media not doing their job.  They alluded to the double standard but someone has to really take the mainstream media to task, day after day after day.

regards,

I really like Beck but lately he has gotten "weird" when he has guests on.  Almost like he is goofy or something.

Sarah's had him "twiterpated" for most of the week.  She tends to have that effect on guys.

Sarah Palin can help create a party within a party. We don't need a 3rd party, we just need to capture the GOP.

He's been sick.

Could be the explanation......he just seemed to be "out of it" for the entire interview, in several cases he was barely coherent.

I wasn't talking about his interview with Palin.  When I posted my comment I hadn't even seen it yet (I DVR'ed it).  He has been getting "giddy" when he has a guest.  Don't get me wrong, I like Beck.  It's not all the time, it just seems like he has been kind of odd lately.  Like he will bust out laughing and the guest doesn't seem to share his enthusiasm.   After viewing his show last night I thought he acted like he didn't feel well in his interview with Palin.

I have opinions but I won't post them - someone will snoop, take them as fact and spread rumors. I'll say only that I don't think he's been feeling well for a while now.

He was hoarse as hell! I think maybe he's got the crap I just got rid of. It's nasty shirt! Could barely breath for 3 days. Doc was afraid I was comin' down with pneumonia! Put me on oxygen for 2 days + anti's!

He reminded me of a 16 year old boy with googled eyes over the 18 year old upper class-men girl that hes in love with.

There is a lot of Beck that I like, then there is a lot of Beck that I dont like.  My issues of what I do not like are less to do with Beck himself than how people see him.  He is the equivalent to a town crier as any media personality should be but many out there follow him as some kind of cult leader or political leader.

As to Becks content, hes on target for the most part.

As to the whole 3rd party thing... there is no doubt it would divide the vote.  Yet I will say that I personally will refuse to vote for someone that will not properly represent.  I do see another party emerging in the years to come rather than just independent 3rd wheel runners.  The core starts on our local level such as city, county and then the state level.  From my perspective either people will realize this and actually get active and branch off or we will die under socialism.  I am sorry but I do not see a reformation of either party that is currently in place.  I hope I am proven wrong.  Yet time and distance has proven me right too many times.

Hi,

Couple of things.  I understand Beck mentioned on the air yesterday he has a terrible cold and needed four guests because he was afraid his voice would give out.

I followed Glenn Beck since the late 1990's when he was in Tampa.  He was very vocal about Gore trying to steal the election here in Florida.  He finally mentioned on the air that he wanted to have a "Rally for America" and over 10,000 people showed up in a Tampa park.  In those days he would personally answer his emails and would interact with the crowd and public regularly.  Now, for security reasons, he cannot do that and I have seen some posts on his insiders web site that it really bothers him.

My wife and I drove to Kansas City to see his show last summer.  We waited outside the theatre.  I just wanted to say greetings from Tampa and shake his hand.  There were maybe a dozen people waiting there.  Then two black Chevy SUV's with dark tinted windows show up.  Last time I saw vehicles like that was in DC in a hotel when some government bigwig was meeting with a foreign diplomat.  Very intimidating.  We talked to Stu while we were waiting, then the door opened and about 6-8 very large men with suits on, and bulging pockets came out surrounding Glenn.  The two in front threw out their arms saying make way, make way.  Hell there was only a dozen of us.  My wife and I decided to just stay back and watch.  One young lady had a copy of his first book and a pen in hand and it was obvious she wanted it signed.

As Glenn got to the door of the vehicle, he turned, pushed away a security guard, took the pen and signed the gal's book.  Looked at us all with a forlorn look and said, "Sorry gang, we have to go."  I felt sorry for him and posted that story on his insider forum.  Some of the old timers told me after a performance like that he used to come out and sit on a step and interact with the crowd for normally an hour or so......not anymore.

I think he is still a young man and is pinching himself, and getting used to his new role in the national spotlight.  Hell, I suspect most of us would be in absolute awe of Palin and I felt that Glenn was at first but then he calmed down as the interview progressed.    My God that woman is a breath of fresh air.....

regards,
5412

PS:  Waited in line at a book signing in Orlando and got to shake his hand.  He looked me in the eye and was very nice.

I wasn't talking about the way he acted with Palin.  I'm talking about the almost hyper way he has been acting over the past month or so when he has guests on.  Maybe it was my break from watching when I was getting ready for christmas and when I came back I noticed what was always there.  I don't know but I still really like him and the way he conducts his show in general.  I think it's when he is really excited about a subject and has someone there to discuss it with that he really feels in tune with.  I know he has ADD or ADHD (I can't remember for sure) and that very well could explain it.

I'm with you Beg. Somthin' just ain't right. I can't put my finger on it but it seems the man is scared of something. Do ya spose the pressure is gettin' just a little too much? Can you imagine the threats this guy must be gettin'? He has a family. Wouldn't be the first time a guy had to give it up for fear of his family being threatened and God forbid harmed.
