Yes, I will kick my own ass later for saying that.

Day off. Snow came and went, now gone. Still some rain for today. "Slept in" until 5:15. Usual domestic crap on the agenda, along with a few beers being unceremoniously killed. Angels-Yankees game at 4. They better start playing like it means something.

32 degrees here. At least it's dry for a change and should stay that way until Thursday.
Back to work...SOS all week.
My Titans got their a$$es handed to them yesterday. :bawl: 0-5 so far. We even make Detroit look good. :bawl:

42 this morning, supposed to be sunny and in the mid 60's this afternoon.

31...that is all. :censored:

It looks warm outside, but it ain't. :(
The cold weather is here and the runny noses showed up with it. Anyone got a mop?

I should be in a crappy mood. It is Monday, I have a metric effing buttload of stuff to get prepped and painted by Friday morning for a convention, a list of other stuff that needs doing and the day to day house stuff in addition. I also am getting a minor cold and will have to hit the gym today feeling like I just chain smoked half a pack.
It's a gorgeous day outside, sunny and cool with the first fall colors in the offing, the holidays about to roll around again and I woke up this morning and rolled over and wrapped my arms around the most beautiful woman in the world and got to hold her for a while before the day started. I could go to bed right now and it would have been a great day. :-)
-
I do. Day off, but I'm curled up in bed getting over the flu.
-
50, with an expected high of 65 and a chance of rain. Good Autumn weather :cheersmate:

That's not fall. That's early summer around here. Sheesh!

Trade? We're already past peak and the yard is starting to fill up. If it weren't still wet out there I'd be raking/mowing/vacuuming today.

We had a freeze last night and Mt LeConte had snow over the weekend.
Hellooooo.....it's mid-October!!!!
It is beautifully sunny though and up to 45 now, supposed to hit upper 50's today, upper 60's tomorrow and 70's by Wednesday.....and there is no rain in the forecast until Friday..... :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Just got the listing for a foreclosure....they have increased my referral fee that I have to pay, reduced my commission amount, and increased the work load. :banghead:
Went to Sam's yesterday ...such a bad place to go when hungry. :thatsright:
Anyhow...kept running into these two ladies throughout the store and commenting on different stuff. We got to the baked goods area and there were these boxed up Panettone's, which is sort of an Italian pound cake with orange zest and raisins. They were saying that it's supposed to be wonderful turned into a bread pudding. There's a recipe on the side....I'm thinking it needs to be made in my kitchen today. With a lovely buttery sauce, maybe with some B&B in it....
Not sure how it's going to go with the chili and corn muffins that I've already started....but comfort food is comfort food... :-)

About 55, sunny and gorgeous on the Common today. There's really nothing like autumn in Boston.

How pretty!
Have a little friend who's at AI in her first year. Her aunt and I are hoping to get up there in the spring....

Sucks doesn't it, when you have to go back to work to rest up from vacation?

Pretty busy weekend. Started out with having the pro put out four harpoon traps for the mole(s) that have found my lawn to be a great source of earthworms. Two of the traps tripped, but only snagged one mole. He's dead. Graveyard dead. :evillaugh:
Washed the motorcycle and lubed the chain. It was about time - hadn't done that since late May. :o
Otherwise prepping the bike and the various lawn equipment for storage. Pulled the blade off the 22" propelled mower. It looked like a piece of freakin' angle iron. Edge? HA! I've seen sharper edges on a basketball! Changed the plugs, air filters, etc. Will change the oil in spring.
Bowled a 545 last night.
Formed a new brass quintet. Had our first rehearsal yesterday. Lotsa good vibes - I think we're gonna keep ourselves. :rotf:
Some names being bandied about:
On the cheesy side:
"All Lacquered Up"
"Pipes, Pistons, and Slides"
On the more esoteric side:
"Highway 63 Brass Alliance"
"63 Brass Coalition"
A bit more formal:
Central Missouri Brass
Mid-Missouri Brass
Opus Five
Missouri Brass [Quintet]
Harmonium Brass [Quintet]
We'll figure something out. :hyper:

It's cloudy and 67 right now. I like days like today.
My brother-in-law, who reminds me of balloon boy's dad (not in the way he looks but in the way he acts), did a jib jab of my son, husband, nephews and him. It's pretty funny so I thought I would post it because I am bored. He didn't do a very good job of cropping one of my nephews heads but he isn't the best with computer skills.

Add to that the fact that the Doc told me no more caffeine or alcohol, and you have a crabby BKG this Monday. FML.

ACK....no more caffeine?

ACK....no more caffeine?
Yup... no more caffeine. And I've spent the last decade believing Diet Coke is the nectar of the god's.. :bawl: Fortunately, I get to taper down over the next few weeks. Ugh.

I gave up caffeine years ago....except for in chocolate.
Once you get past the withdrawal headaches...you'll be ok.
I gave up caffeine free Diet Coke in May....it was really hard. Now I'm hooked on Key Lime "fizzy water" from Walmart....it's Sam's brand. It's 89cents for a 2 liter bottle. No calories, caffeine or sodium. It comes in about 6 or 8 different flavors, but the lime is my favorite.
I have a hiatel(sp?) hernia because of scar tissue from a punctured diaphragm. The 6-8 Diet Cokes a day were killing me.....I honestly thought the heartburn attacks were going to do me in....

75 here in H-Town.
Hell, that's a cool front for us. lol
Packers won, Texans won, Longhorns won.
Life is good.

For whatever reason this Monday sucks. I'm tired as hell, no enegry. Probably because I havent slept well since fri. Bleh.
Painted the kids bedroom for her birthday present on Sunday. It is a lovely shade of ....................turquoise. Mom said, "it's your choice honey". :thatsright:

HA HA I did that ONCE because my daughter wanted it (same color) and left it for a couple of months then repainted it.
-
ha ha ha... my sister chose this horrible powder blue color for her 1984 Chevy Cavalier. At least she got a decent paint job for the money, but DAMN that was just an awful color.
Here's an example of my day... I get a call from a customer in Texas having a problem with his POS, and the guy has a really bad stutter on top of not being a native English speaker. After trying to figure out what this dude was trying to tell me for about five minutes, I ask him if there's anyone else around to take the call. He hands the phone off to the only other guy around, and THIS guy has a speech impediment. :banghead:
-
w00t! I made twenty bucks changing a 50-cent fuse. :evillaugh:

Nope, that would get us confused with the Navy-type Hornblower. Remember Captain Horatio Hornblower?
We couldn't have that now, could we.

I made no nautical references. And, YES, you COULD use than name.

"All Lacquered Up" - sounds like a bluegrass band.
How 'bout "Brass Monkeys". :rotf:

My wife does-not-learn. It was purple before.
I let the both of them know the next color is...........eggshell.

My old house had lots of wallpaper....almost the entire first floor. The upstairs was lots of different colors.
My house now? Before we moved in, I had all the walls painted the color of an ivory wedding invitation that I had received in the mail....it's about the color of french vanilla ice cream. All the woodwork (and there is a whole bunch of it!) is stained a really dark color...sort of between a walnut and a mahogany. And I don't have a single window with anything over it.
The walls had been painted a deep yellow everywhere on the first floor and made the house so dark. Heavy drapes at every window. The house sets way down below street level surrounded by trees and it was sooooo dark in here! Not anymore! :-)

Euph & The Mighty Skinflutes? :-)
Toasted, have you ever even seen a skin flute? Neither have I :rotf:
I've seen appendages that someone called a skin flute, but I've never seen one that fluted.
That's got to be bizarre. To have heard of something that doesn't exist - over and over and over again.
