Joshua has been taking the bus to his local Whole Foods in New York City every five days for the past two years. This week, he said he'll go elsewhere to fulfill his fresh vegetable and organic produce needs.
"I will never shop there again," vowed Joshua, a 45-year-old blogger, who asked that his last name not be published.
Like many of his fellow health food fanatics, Joshua said he will no longer patronize the store after learning about Whole Foods Market Inc.'s CEO John Mackey's views on health care reform, which were made public this week in an op-ed piece he wrote for The Wall Street Journal.
Michael Lent, another Whole Foods enthusiast in Long Beach, Calif., told ABCNews.com that he, too, will turn to other organic groceries for his weekly shopping list.

It does seem kind of stupid for a company that depends on moonbat morons willing to pay double for their food to criticize The One.
But they have nothing to fear. The fun really starts when DUmmies try to decide on a company they can support.

They also refused the UFW's request to stop carrying a line of beef that had fired organizers.
That is why Whole Foods has a high deductible, because they won't let their workers organize
without retaliation. EFCA NOW! Then they won't be on near minimum wage anymore.

And I occasionally stopped in for their prepared take-out meals which are pretty good. But Henry's & Trader
Joes are closer, Costco's meats are as good, and Vons has almost everything I need.

46. Does TJ's have a union? One more thing:
Trader Joe's has lots of convenience food which means too much packaging. They have no bulk
items and most of their scant produce is over-packaged. They also were at the bottom of the list
for animal treatment in regards to organic dairies.

I may be exiled from the Cave, but I actually like Whole Foods :evillaugh: They are pricey, but they have better produce than Trader Joes, and I like being able to buy free range meat and eggs there. I was a vegetarian for a couple of years, but eventually decided that I like meat too much to keep it up. I still like the idea of animals being treated well before being slaughtered though. They also have bulk food bins, which are handy for basic staples. Not as cheap as other places, but if you compare truly similar items (free range eggs to free range eggs, for example) the prices are pretty similar.

The critters don't know the difference, and none of them live at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm.
Every piece of chicken meat (and every egg) on "the planet" is organic.
Some just cost a lot more than others.

My name is formerlurker and I shop at Whole Foods and really have no intention of stopping.
The produce is the absolute best in the area, as is the meat and fish. They also carry this EXTREMELY addictive popcorn:

I swear the "herbal" part is a totally illegal substance because you are addicted to it from the moment you place it in your mouth.
Their vegan desserts are to die for -- especially their vegan carrot cake, and vegan chocolate cupcakes. Their burrito/salad bar is killer also.
I am a Whole Food junkie, and am not ashamed to admit it.

Oh for Gods sake...if I needed/wanted a particular food item I would go to the nearest store that provided it with an eye on the price.

I shop at Whole Paycheck, Trader Joe's, Target, Walmart, Costco, Sams, Harris Teeter and Giant. Seriously! I hit all of them over the course of 6-8 weeks. :rofl:

Concept over substance is always a given when dealing with Little Goons. "Whole Foods" just sounds so..so...ORGANIC...it must be where intellectuals shop!

I shop wherever I can find what I want at what I consider the best balance between price and quality. I really don't care what the politics of a store chain is or isn't when I choose to spend my money there. There is also a 'mom & pop' convenience store 2 houses down and across the street from me.
Its more of an overpriced flea market than a store, but if I need a gallon of milk or something right away, they almost always have it.

What the DUmmies fail to realize is no matter where you shop some of your money will be going to someone you don't like.
Stores rely on venders and distributors to bring the product to the store shelf so odds are a wingnut will make money somehow off the purchase. :-)

I have one option only - Ingles. Closest WF is Atlanta and I'm not driving almost 2 hours to grocery shop.
