Title: Saturday, Day of Debauchery
Post by: NHSparky on March 28, 2009, 10:19:06 AM
Worked at the poker room last night, got off at 10, had enough time to win another 50 bucks on top of the tips, got home at midnight and enjoyed tasty beerverages before crashing.

Cool and foggy here on the top of the mountain this morning.  Expected high all the way up to 57 once the fog burns off, but only 38 now--go figure.

I'm thinking beer and steaks are the order of the day for the weekend before concluding my "vacation" and heading back to work on Monday.

What's new with you?

It's chilly today.

Since I didn't work yesterday, I'm at work today.  Doing some stuff to get ahead and Monday should be a breeze.  I talked with the receptionist and she said that reviews didn't get done yesterday, that the boss put them off until Monday for everyone.  Oh well.  The owner did see that I'm here, so that's a good bonus point.

Tonight is the usual drunkfest at my friend's house.  After I get off work I'm gonna shower up and make myself look all purdy for it.

The only other errand I have to do today is go by the hardware store and get a few house keys made.  My mom's boyfriend is going to come over Monday to work on my electrical stuff.

I stepped outside my place to have a smoke earlier
and was nearly overwhelmed by the stench of 'hippie" in the air.
I thought about it for a second then I remembered today is the
Westheimer Block Party.

I'm thinking about walking down and taking some pictures of the freak show,
but right now I don't have the energy.

I'm at work right now.  There's only six people in the entire building and we have all the lights on.

Cloudy dreary drizzly day, and I'm TIRED!  The girls kept me up too late last night...*yawn*.

Got up early this morning, made cinnamon rolls for my daughter's birthday breakfast, fed everyone and took them to dance. Left dance for a bit to register my little guy for a spring football thingy, then went back to dance, pissed off the director by taking my daughter early, and she went to another friend's b-day party.

Home for a bit, then I'm taking her to a friend's house for the night, and I'm going to make pizzas for the boys!

My life is so exciting!

I played Fallout 3 on the CrackBox-360 till 5am and slept in till noon. :-)

My wife got FOURTEEN hours of sleep and woke up at her leasure as well.

Subway for lunch in a bit here and then I am defrosting a tenderloin for dinner.

We have snow inbound, 3-6 inches with 30mph wind gusts. :(

I've been doing homework all day!  Lame, but I'm making some headway on a project.

Currently eating some 'za and watching a little Ben-Hur.

Hope everyone is having a fab Saturday night!

That was a 3 pound beef tenderloin I got a while back when they were on sale, steamed snap peas, steamed broccoli, sour cream and chive potatos, all grain and pumpernickle breads. And some wasabi horseradish for the roast beast.

Drinking some vanilla hazlenut coffee for afters. Happy tums. :)

Glad I'm not the only one. Only have about 30 pages of notes left to type.

And I've been trying to find someone to help me with a photography project. That's been a real blast... :whatever:

We are on provisional standby tonight in case they have to shut the interstate down due to the now 12 inches of snow they are expecting south of here. :p

If they pull the trigger I get to take the 4x4 and try to get to the interstate 14 miles south of here and wait for a state police suburban or a Nat. Guard hummer to come pick me up and ferrry me the rest of the way.

I hope to hell they just keep up with the plowing this time.  Last time the I90 corridor got snowbound there were over 4,000 people caught when they shut the thing down. A good chunk of them were stranded in snowbound cars till things got cleared off.  Could be a fun night here. :D

Home from work, but won't be online long.  They had me close, yet I come in early tomorrow morning,  that sucks. :(

Savannah got slammed hard by a storm I didn't even know was headed this way.   :o   The lightning was the kind that lit up the whole sky in a flash, looking rather like God was taking pics of us or something. :p

And don't get me started on the thunder...made me want to crawl somewhere and hide. :(

Yes, it has to be a live person.

I used to do photography until my eyes got so bad I had to quit.  I invested in a neat 500-watt diffuser and a reflective umbrella for still-lifes.  I still like it, but I need a good 50mm for my digital camera.

See if you can find any instructional books by Galen Rowell.  I think his studio goes by the name Mountain Light.  My favorite works of his are the long-exposure (2+ minutes) of night scenes using an ISO 64 or slower film.  He used some verrrrry slow film.

Ah, imagine my surprise when just as I fall asleep, I hear the, "Urrrrrp...urrrrp....UUUURRRRRPPPPPPP!!!" of the dog.

Fortunately, the volume and toxicity wasn't too bad, but now I can't get back to sleep.  Just my freakin luck.
