I love how not having bacon is rightly dismissed so quickly.  :lmao:

Hmmm, I'm hungry now...

The local radio sports guys were having a debate on Friday about whether or not bacon should be crispy or chewy. It was actually getting a little heated. People take their bacon very seriously!  :lmao:

All this talk of bacon is making my mouth water. I actually have some in my fridge! I could fry some up if I wanted to.

I don't always buy bacon often, but that's what I get the thick cut.  :)

VOTE FRAUD!  I'VE BEEN DISENFRANCHISED!!

I prefer crispy.  You can't put "chewy" bacon into a sandwich and not have it come out all at once. :(

I've got the votes from 142 other crispy bacon lovers who would like to have them cast.  They, uhh... couldn't wait in line any longer.  Dinner was burning on the stove.  Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket...

A BLT sounds really good right now.

Speaking of bacon, I think we ought to delve into a much more controversial topic (in my family, it's an argument that could very well get you kicked out of the family, or divorced :p ):

Which is better, regular ole bacon from a pig, or from a turkey?  :uhsure:

Serve turkey "bacon" at my table at your peril.

Turkey bacon is not real bacon.  Real bacon used to have an oink and a tail.

That's how my family is.  Turkey bacon isn't bad, but its more for health-nuts, and REAL bacon isn't meant to be a health food :p .

Turkey bacon?  Blasphemer!

Bacon only comes from a pig.

I'm not the blasphemer.  That would be a couple of family members who make sure that's the only option available when I go to visit them. :p

Never visit them again.

They are trying to corrupt your bacon purity!

Oh, that sounds so good.  My mom made garlic cheese grits the other night and was bragging about it to me (that's not nice!  :bawl: )  I'm going to have to make that now, and include the bacon. :yum:

Yes, yes they are.  My father is just going to have to learn that not everything in the pantry and fridge should be "healthy" items.   :fuelfire: It's bad enough the fridge is only stocked with diet sodas (although Diet Rite sodas aren't bad).  Don't get me started on the beer that's in there.  :mental:

Had cornish game hens tonight, baked with a slice of bacon on each. The bacon managed to be crisp and chewey, delish. And the flavor went all through the chicken breast. Have to give SR credit. He's the best making those game hens. Yum!

Damn. My vote's for chewy - but extra thick cut. The thick cut keeps those flash-in-the-pan types on their toes.  :-)
