I knew you were most unique. My mom had black hair and blue eyes.

I realize this is a black and white photograph, but here are my blue-eyed parents

How is your eyesight?   The gray makes me think you have 20/10 vision, but the green tint has me guessing now.

(and interesting poll would be eye color to eyesight to see if there is a relationship)

Oh lordy, you're new here, aren't you?  :lmao:

Blame it on bad genes.  Both my parents have bad eyes and have both had detached retinas.  My sister's eyes are terrible.  I've always had bad eyesight and had a detached retina the other year.  The butchering left me legally blind on my left side.  Before then, I could get maybe 20/30 with corrective lenses.

It was Debbie Jaroe, in the sixth grade, who told me I have the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.  She was right. Famous artists have tried, in their desperate attempts for greatness, to capture the kind of blue that resides in the two oceans of my face.

I have had women describe them as 'intoxicating'.  One of my girlfriend's mother told me I had the best 'bedroom eyes' she had ever seen.  That old chick wanted me BAD.  She loved to wisp her finger across my long lashes as I tried to get her off my lap.

We are still considered blue eyes but with less , but our eyes will often appear green or blue or gray as they tend to take on colors from our surroundings.

Here is what wiki says about gray. My eyes are lt gray as opposed to steel blue-gray.

Quote
A steel blue-gray eyeGray eyes have less melanin than blue eyes, even though they are considered a darker shade of blue (like blue-green). They are most common in European Russia, Finland and the Baltic States.[citation needed] Under magnification, gray eyes exhibit small amounts of yellow and brown color in the iris.

A gray iris may indicate the presence of a uveitis. However, other visual signs make a uveitis obvious.

Visually, gray eyes often tend to appear to change between the shades of blue, green and gray; this is because gray eyes are extremely light, as mentioned before. The color change for gray eyes is usually influenced by the lighting and the colours in the surroundings (such as clothes, makeup, etc.).

The Greek goddess Athena was renowned for having "owl-gray" or "sea-gray" eyes (in Greek, γλαυκῶπις – glaukōpis).[30]

Interesting.   Most people I know with gray eye color have killer vision (pilots).   The green though usually indicates nearsightness (I have no idea if that is a word).   I have brown eyes with green flecks of color -- totally near sighted.

Very sorry to hear about the problems you had with your eyesight.   :(

My father has brown eyes.  I think he is nearsighted as well since that seems to be the common affliction in my family.  I bet if you did a bit of Googling, someone has already studied your subject for you (anything for a grant or tenure).

I had that type.  I would always say, "Baby, your eyes are clear.  I can see your soul."  Then we would have hot monkey love.  At some point during that I would make note of her rolled back eye color.  Then the next time I could tell her her eyes were white.

As I said in the incestuous thread, mine are brown, my wife's are blue, and our daughter's are gray.

I have heard that it's a total of seven genes that determine eye color.  Hence, why there will be a myriad of shades of brown, say, or blue.

I voted green, though my eyes look different depending on the colors I wear and the lighting...but I do have one unusual child.  He has brown eyes, but blonde hair.  It's gotten slightly darker as he aged, but it was platinum blonde when he was little...very striking.

Hazel, but certain colors intensify depending on my mood.

i.e. if my eyes take on a green tint, I'm upset or angry.  Sad, they get a little more grey, and happy, more brown.
