My tree is down and everything else (including the lights that were outside) is put away in boxes and back up in the attic today.
Who packs it up as soon as Christmas is over and who waits until January (or later)?
-
Dunno. That's up to Mrs. E, though I think she waits till after New Year's.
If it were up to me, I wouldn't put any of that stuff up to begin with. PITA.
Yeah, I know. Bah humbug. :shucks:

Project Eradicate Christmas complete. Project MLK Day now in progress. I have a dream.

Lick my quick feet, Chritmas boy. I'm the only one living here, so I can do anything I want.

When there are more needles on the ground than on the tree, that's when I do it.

Take down Christmas! :angryvillagers:
Oh, you mean decorations. I never got a chance to put them up. I need some sort of festively small mini-mobile I can hang my half-dozen ornaments from.

We're supposed to decorate for Christmas?

Maybe the week after New Years. :-)

I cleaned up and put in new light bulbs. That's as far as I got.

Wait! I do have a roll of wrapping paper sitting in my living room. LOL!
-
Next weekend's project, I'd do it tomorrow, but have more important things to do.
-
BEG, didn't you put up your tree early? Don't know what my problem was this year, but I was really running behind. I didn't finish wrapping the gifts til Christmas Eve and finished the tree Monday evening, so we'll be leaving ours up longer. I'd hate to take it down already. I need to feel totally sick of it before I take it down. I'm just finally relaxing and enjoying it.

Yes, they are! :p
My family keeps all Christmas decorations up until New Year's Day. :)
-
I take them down sometime between New Year's and Jan 6th.
I'm going to sort through things as I put them away....need to get rid of a bunch that I don't use any more and also sort out the kids' ornaments and give them to them....at least get my daughter's to her. She can store just as easily at her house instead of mine. :whatever:
-
Since it was a bitch getting it all hung up in the first place, the outside lights, the tree, the regular decor throughout the main living areas.. I just may let it sit until the 6th.... of April. :-)

Darn tootin!
And we have a tradition of taking down the OUTSIDE decorations sometime around Easter... :uhsure:
-
Our inside is undone, and we took the opportunity to re-arrange the living room. I totally love it the way it is now! Outside isn't down yet, but that is Mr Flame's job.
-
You know, I really don't want to. It is just a tiny tree and a a few strands of lights, but I like looking at it.
-
Weather permitting, we'll do most of it next weekend.
-
I think, by law, we are required to keep up Christmas decorations until Easter then you can put your Easter eggs on the tree and you're good to go.
I'm not a lawyer though so don't try to get free legal advice from me.

It took me so long to put up all the stuff that I don't want to take it down. Also like looking at it. Having a brunch Sunday, so guess it will have to wait til the following weekend. :-)

My little 2 foot "apartment tree" is up all year but, only plugged in for about two weeks. The rest of the year it's my living room plant, lol.
North Indiana had some rough weather so I may be up there in February or even March taking down my parents outdoor lights. (I'm sure they got other outside lights and deer and such down already or will have soon)
-
Mine will come down on the 9th. After bowl season. :-)

My wife called me at work on the 26th and said, "The tree is coming down today. Who do you want to take it down--me, or our daughter?" It would seem that The Heiress liked the ornaments so much, that she was yanking them off the tree. And if her chosen branch didn't have an ornament on it, it didn't stop her. So, my wife decided that the tree would come down, one way or the other, the day after Christmas. Gotta say that I agree with her assessment.
Next year, there'll be triple-strand concertina around the tree. I'll probably have to breach it with an IED.

I was ahead of all of you. I didn't put up any decorations this year. :lmao:
We "skip" Christmas every other year since our kiddo goes to visit his dad and their family. We alternate years and when he was little, I would decorate the entire house, pull out the big tree and make it look like the North Pole in here. Problem was that he would leave several days before Christmas and not return until after New Year's so the decorations seemed a bit much to my way of thinking. My son told me I'd better decorate every year or else I was Mrs. Grinch so I did until this year when he said, "Mom, why are you dragging all of that out?" "No sense in killing yourself to decorate since we aren't doing our Christmas until after New Year's anyway. We don't need all of that to get into the holiday spirit." Hubby could go either way and I think he's relieved to NOT have to climb stairs and contort himself to get boxes down from storage.
I thought I would miss the tree and decorations but I didn't! We still have gifts to open and a special meal to celebrate when kiddo returns. And nothing to clean up! Whoo hoo! :-)

It all came down the 27th.................PTL!
