CNN) -- Workers at a Galveston, Texas, laboratory said to contain dangerous biological agents secured the pathogens Friday ahead of Hurricane Ike, officials said. A patient at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is helped from the building Thursday. The pathogens, which include the deadly ebola virus, were purposely destroyed before the staff left the facility in advance of the hurricane, said Gov. Rick Perry's spokesman, Andrew Barlow. A Department of Homeland Security official concurred that all the samples had been destroyed, and the building was locked down, quarantined and "rendered safe." But a former student who worked at the Level-III laboratory while the Level-IV facility was being constructed and who knows the manager, said she would be surprised if all of the pathogens had been destroyed, since some of them are rare and extremely valuable.

5. People wouldn't feel so paranoid and tinfoily if there was some
transparency. Instead there's a media blackout. Of course people begin to wonder what the hell they're hiding... even if there's nothing.
I swear, I was not the paranoid type before the Bush years, but we've been lied to so often I don't even know what the truth looks like.

Whether 50 people or 50,000 people died, what's the point? Where's the scandal? Who benefits from hiding the news?
I don't wake up in a new world everyday. I remember the warnings to leave. I remember the Nation Weather Service issuing the previously unheard of warning stating if people refused to leave, they faced "certain death". If a bunch of people are dead, well, that was their choice. I cannot imagine who the Little Goons think they can blame other than the "victims".
How can hundreds of people die and no one know it? Don't these dead folks have families? Friends? Would these hundreds and hundreds of people who are missing friends and loved ones not be heard?
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Idiots, all of them.

I watched the national news tonight. There was less than 2 minutes on Ike on ABC with Charlie. I live in the Houston area. We have a BUNCH of news about the hurricane here. I have seen the beaches on our broadcast news. There is no black out other than national. We are not New Orleans. I put a post on another thread before the hurricane hit saying you wouldn't hear about this hurricane for long. WE are TEXANS and WE are putting things back together. 'Nuff said.
Oh, by the way, there were no bodies lying on the beaches. That if for any lurking dummies. Now I'll go collect my check for posting the VRWC official story.

The distinction between a bottom-of-the-barrel primitive and a drek primitive is that while both are a waste of skin and oxygen and other resources, bottom-of-the-barrel primitives are harmless, their main utility to the rest of mankind being they give us something to laugh at.
While drek primitives are actually poisonous, almost as if a contagious sort of gangrene that eats away at the body and soul of all who touch it.
