Are whites who stand when people of color are taking a knee showing a lack of allyship?
Is it a microaggression, or worse, overt racism? What should poc think of poc who choose not to kneel? There are all kinds of interesting subtexts here waiting to be explored.

I would encourage them and praise their solidarity of kneeling.
They could even level-up, by turning their backs to the flag.
Now comes a bit of a delemma.
Wood, for that nostalgic *Crack* and ability to gain a beautiful patina,
or,
aluminum for that melodic *Pinggg* , longevity and ease of cleaning.
I really do prefer wood. We'll see.

No you stupid ****wad. They are showing respect for the flag, the national anthem and all the people who died protecting this great country of ours. If anything they are showing disdain for the prima donnas whose sole skill is running/throwing/catching a damned ball in a damned game. When Kaepernick puts his ass on the line for this country then I might give him a pass. Until then I hope his worthless ass gets nailed by a linebacker that ends his career.
That make me racist? So be it. If I was in his shoes I would be damned grateful to live in a country where I could make millions of dollars playing a game. Ungrateful spoiled bastard is what he is.

Years ago, when I lived in Denver, I was dumb enough to go to a Donkos game wearing a Raiders jersey. The "fans" were throwing D-cell batteries at me (missing every time and taking out a Donko fan nearby). Wonder why Kaperdick isn't dodging D-cells?

Because 9er fans recycled their dead batteries? Because 9er fans paid so much to get in to the stadium that they didn't want to get kicked out?
I have a feeling 49ers paraphernalia, Kaepernick jerseys especially, have taken a significant hit in sales - football fans showing their disapproval using their wallets. BTW, Kaepernick seems to have lost his role as starting QB - I heard that he played a little in the 4th quarter of the Rams game; he didn't show up in the box scores as having thrown even one pass.

The NFL threatened to fine a player who had 9/11 tribute cleats, but backed down in the face of public outcry and the players union saying they would pay the guy's fine.

I'm glad the NFLPA stepped up.
But considering the NFL is headquartered in the largest media market in the U.S. they should have squashed that idea of a fine before it ever was put to paper and sent to the 32 teams.
In the age of social media and the fact that perception is reality...the NFL now looks like it's more supportive of athletes like Kapernick and less sympathetic to those who still have very vivid and raw memories of 9/11.
