So, where were all the good guys with guns?
This was Texas. I would guess there several hundred guns in the shooting area (not counting police). So, why did none of these people use their lawful guns to stop these lawbreakers?

You're a dip shit.

No the DUmmie still hasn't had an original thought.

Dallas tragedy proves a good guy with a gun shouldn't be the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun
Remember this drivel?
“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.â€
Well, that gun lobby rubbish was again disproved in Dallas.
Twelve good guys — law enforcement men and women trained to shoot — were stopped by one bad guy. Five officers were killed and seven wounded. Two civilians also were injured before the bad guy was finally stopped by a bomb-carrying robot.
I dunno, I consider most cops to be a "good guy with a gun". Unfortunately, lunatic democrats and Islamic Terrorists prefer to attack soft targets, i.e. Gun Free Zones.
OTOH, I'm guessing there weren't a lot of protesters there that could legally carry. :whistling:
Also, when cops are being targeted and are looking for anyone with a gun, it's best to keep yours out of sight or turn it in to the nearest cop like the one guy did.

They're at work.

Wow! What a crushingly tough question ... to fellow DU-folk. The answer is simple:
Some were being shot at.
Some were staying out of the way of the professionals.

This isn't the normal mass shooting in a GFZ with no cops nearby. Plenty of cops around, unfortunately they were the targets.

The LAST thing a conceal carry citizen wants to do is pull out a firearm when POLICE are being shot at. It's a death sentence.
Now, a Luby's cafeteria, a Christmas party in California, a church in Colorado or a night club in Orlando, oh yes. Pull them out and shoot (when no police are present to "protect" you) to kill.
-
This clearly wasn't your typical perp; he knew how to create confusion and use it to his advantage.
Also, while he didn't have a documented criminal record, it's not as if there were no warning signs.

What you said. :cheersmate:
I'm not really sure how many legal CC people were there. It was a BLM event after all.
Does that make me racist? So be it. Stats are on my side.

PGR, you know concealed carriers are a lot more intelligent than DU-folk fantasize them to be.

Rephrased to satisfy DUmmy Kelvin Mace:
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun or a good guy with a high explosive laden robot.

They're at work.
Yep.

One more point they don't seem to realize:
The Dallas shootings were done sniper- style. It would be pretty freaking difficult for citizens with CCW's to return fire on a sniper whose very location would be hard for most to discover.

Are you also suggesting that concealed and open carriers act intelligently? How shocking!

Bingo.

78. The mentally ill,
convicted felons, spouse abusers, child abusers, rapists, you know, the usual sorts we believe really shouldn't have access to firearms. Oh, and anyone who has ever mishandled a firearm, like allowed children access to them, "accidentally" shot themselves, or others while "cleaning" their gun.
Kelvin's right. We need to pass another set of laws to extra prohibit "mentally ill, convicted felons, spouse abusers, child abusers, rapists" from possessing firearms. :sarcasm:
What an idiot...

Since that is 100% of all democrats and liberals, we should pass the law so none of them is ever armed.

I support that. After all, evidence shows it is extremely easy to provoke a leftist to violence.

The open carry law applies to every one. As soon as the SHTF that day, the guy found a cop, turned his gun over and turned himself in. That was a smart thing to do.

That's right, and he should be praised for doing the right thing.

That is why he isn't a bigger story. The cops didn't overreact and he didn't either. The left would have preferred that the cops had gunned him down.

That makes it imperative that we repeat that he did the right thing--over and over. That message needs to be repeated, because the Left needs to know that we don't discriminate, when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.

These attacks were done by a rifleman firing from a prepared defensive position with an SKS. If it was a sniper attack, they would have not found the shooter so easily. Everything from his choice of weapon, to how he went about conducting his attack is more reminiscent of an armed irregular insurgent in Iraq, than a sniper.
All this attack shows, is that the shooter in this case put some thought into a defensive position. And some thought into his fields of fire. That is exactly what I would expect out of any insurgents in Iraq or Afghanistan. This is what fighting in a city looks like: It is messy, it is close range, and it is hard to find your attacker.
He was not trained as a sniper. He did not serve as a sniper. Do not give this shitbag the distinction of being called something that he was not. He was a coward with a rifle, plain and simple.

Snipers are a 'force multiplier.' So's an armored cavalry squadron in the supply lines of an enemy division or corps. :cheersmate:

DU-folk being unoriginal and predictable, I'll answer before seeing it asked: The good guys with guns in Baton Rouge were getting shot at and staying out of the way of the good guys who were being shot at!
