Chick-fil-A employees were at work in Orlando Sunday
http://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/158700906-story
Chick-fil-A employees were seen distributing sandwiches and ice tea to those who waited several hours in line to donate blood in addition to the hundreds of law enforcement officials who responded to the shooting scene.
Class act. It's good to know that things like this can happen.
^^^ A perfectly reasonable OP

is exactly something he would do.

Their CEO is a despicable homophobe of the highest order.

14. And they break corporate policy...
To profit off of this tragedy. Yuck.
^^^ Idiot doesn't understand the concept of "donating"

First responders and the like were not charged for food and drinks handed out to them.

With local Fox affiliates reporting on what a wonderful company they are.
^^^ It is unpossible that the company did this out of the goodness of their hearts - there must be an evil, self serving motivation

20. Well, that'll keep people from doing good things
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I'd hate to look at the world through that lense. it's corrupting.

24. Mercy - what a sacrifice. Cooking and serving on Sunday.
I guess the bar is pretty low for a homophobic company to get praise.
"We served food to people waiting in a line... On Sunday. Yay, us."
^^^ And did you do anything other than send healing white light and hugs?

26. Giving away free food to people in line to donate blood
I think that's a pretty high bar, actually, and I hope other restaurants did the same.
Ms. Yertle seems to be fairly reasonable from her posts in this thread - I am sure that she will be scheduled for reeducation as soon as possible....

Oh yeah..the athiest group was there passing out free food and drinks across the street....NOT!!!!

Leave it to ****ing Philoslayer....
Asshole.

I knew Libs & Progs were up to finding a pretext/angle to condemn CfA's act of charity.
Speaking of rational things, I wonder how far up the management chain this was decided. Obviously, the employees came in, and probably said, "sign me up" as soon as it was proposed to them on the phone or text message. And equally obvious, the store manager and assistant managers organized and ran the "operation". Looking beyond the obvious, I wonder where the idea came from, what approvals might have been given, and what logistic arrangements were approved/made (stores have limited storage capacity, and don't carry much more inventory than they know they'll need, and this "operation" consumed a full day's stock of food, beverage, and packaging).
IMO, the idea may have come from the local store - they probably heard the awful news first - but I'll bet approvals were given, willingly and gladly, all the way up to the corporate CEO and owners.
And if philosslayer and oberliner hate that CfA earned further good will, maybe they should find an atheists' or Progs' charity to preempt CfA (or various Christian charities in other times/kinds of need; H-5 Linda!).

Leftists can be the most insufferably cynical people I know of.
Not only do they view themselves as compassionate, no one else is allowed to be compassionate; they must be viewed with suspicion.
-
Great insight into the dark and hateful heart of your typical leftist.
How many homo organizations were out there helping for free? My guess is an integer between -1 and 1.

Hell, it probably doesn't end at the mutts on DU either. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to find out a few there took the food and badmouthed Chik fil A as soon as they swallowed.

The irony of people that accuse everyone else of hate instantly respond to everything good and decent with hatred.

I'm sorry, what did you do last Sunday to help out in the aftermath of the islamic terror attack on a gay nightclub?

I've never seen a homosexual thrown off the roof of a Chik-fil-A to their death.

I wonder if the dummies would buy it if a pic from the middle east of ISIS throwing a "supposed" gay guy off the building had a "Chick-fil-A" sign photoshopped on the building.
2 get you 3 they would.
amiright?

DUmmies are surprised that no one thinks like them are surprised when no one thinks like them. ::)
Not a SINGLE idea gets to their beady brains without first going through filter of how something looks politically.

And if proven to be photoshopped they would just declare it to be "fake but accurate".

Just got off work and swubg by chik fil a for a delicious chicken salad sandwich with a side of soup. Place is packed like always. For comparison there is a brand new Wendys next door that looks deserted.

Mrs. SVPete and I were at the CfA in Sunnyvale Saturday, around 3PM and they were full, with a line most of the time.
The buycott beat the boycott, badly, with all 3 Silicon Valley CfAs having been added after the boycott began. Plus several other new ones in the SF Bay Area in that time as well.

If you serve great food, at a good price, with friendly service there won't be any leftist boycott that is gonna be effective. Dummies think the majority of the USA thinks like them... and they don't.
For me personally if the food is great, fairly good priced with great service I don't care one whit for the company's politics... I'm gonna eat there. Politics is one thing... an empty stomach is a horse of an entirely different hue. :cheersmate:

I_B_P. I think even a lot of liberal Americans saw that the homosexual activists were lying about Dan Cathy's comment. So the activists' lie not only motivated social-conservative supporters of what Dan Cathy said, but also made others curious enough to try CfA ... after which their food quality and friendly service made them into repeat customers.
We first tried CfA after the boycott started, when a CfA opened here in Silicon Valley. We are social conservatives, but if the food/service had been poor that would have been our only visit; we've been back many times, to all 3 locations hereabouts.

Don't miss the import of this! Many Libs & Progs believe jn-PC people, businesses, and organizations should be banned from doing charitable things.
They'd rather those blood donors and first-responders suffer a bit of hunger and thirst than for CfA to alleviate it.
They'd rather orphans and children removed from abusive homes be stuck in the transient existence of multiple foster "homes" than be adopted through Catholic Charities.
They'd rather students be stuck in unsafe, academically failing, public schools than get an excellent education in a Catholic or an Evangelical private school (or, HORRORS!, be homeschooled by theologically conservative Christian parents).

I do too, BSS. :bawl:
They also tried to do this quietly, the way charity is supposed to be done. Not like those bouncy threads on DU that pat themselves on the back for casting healing white light towards a homeless person.

Even if Chick-Fil-A managed to pull it off quietly, the DUmp would accuse them of false modesty, or claim that it was under-reported so they didn't have to hand out so much "free" food.

If it was one of their "approved" businesses, they would be singing hosannas and no charity exists, outside of government.
I so hate these defective cretins. I want them to die. Very. Soon.
