The Salt Lake City Tribune editorial cartoon omits a "few" details:
* Screwing around in class instead of learning to read;
* Screwing around in class instead of learning Math and Science;
* Feeding homework to the dog;
* Skipping school in middle school, Jr. High, and high school;
* Investing time and energy into recreational chemicals and sex instead of EARNING high school diploma and getting a college education with a career path or learning a trade.
For starters. Add to all that job-hopping and trashing apartments and buying dope/alcohol/electro-toys instead of paying rent and ....

90 percent of the problem is in red. The other 10 percent of folks that have hit on hard times and end up homeless typically do not stay that way for very long. Those are the people that I do not mind my tax dollars being used to help. The rest? They can ESAD.

I don't know the percentages, but throw in the mentally ill unable to function in a working environment and society or unwilling to take the meds, properly, that would enable to so function, and 90% is probably in the ballpark. IOW, down-on-their-luck people willing and able to work and otherwise function in society - the sort of people Lib/Prog activists and pols, and their MSM shills try to represent as The Homeless - are a small fraction of the people living in encampments, parks, under freeway overpasses, shelters, RVs, and cars.
