Raising money on gofundme
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to ask the community how they feel about these fundraisers being posted? I'm not going to lie, I've been tempted. I set up a gofundme account a few days ago to help raise money for my service dog purchase and training. I already have the breeder with pups due in April. I have a training facility that will do the basic obedience training, and I have an ADI accredited trainer that will do the specialized service dog training for my pup. The only thing I don't have, is all of the money. I don't mind paying for everything myself but with such a small window to get everything lined up, I won't get enough from my SSDI to cover it and my family. So far, I've raised about 10% of my goal.
Also, one of my big concerns is putting all of my personal information out there. I know of members who have been harassed and threatened by trolls just because their identities were reveled. There's also people that I know get tired of seeing post after post asking for money. That is why I wanted to get a feel of what the community thought about this. Thanks for reading!
Didn't you see the NEWS, Quackers? Your Lord and Savior created a JOB for you. Why aren't you working at it? (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027579654)
Begging has worked so well for Randy and Pam...it's a wonder more of them don't do it.

Damn I wonder if I should get one of my troll accounts to beg for DUmbshit cash? :naughty: It really would be gratifying to take their cash and put it actual use by helping to elect a Conservative. :fuelfire: :rotf:

Easy fix: Get your politics right.
You go around sticking your hand in other people's pockets and not expect them to get slapped? That's unusual.

4. CCI is a great organization and has helped many people obtain a SD.
unfortunately, just like someone needing a transplant, there is more demand than supply. This leads to a very time consuming selection process that at any point you could be dropped from or bumped back. This is a statement from CCI's website:
"The application process lasts between 3 - 6 months, on average, before an applicant can be accepted into the Canine Companions' program. If accepted, the candidate moves to the waiting list, which can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 ½ years."
For me, I already have been waiting a year, I have a prescription from my Dr., and I have invested some of my own money into this breeder and the ADI certified organization that will be completing the training.
Simple solution for dummy Quackers is to invest some more of he/she/it money and get this done.
Getting a dog and training a dog is one thing. But taking care of a dog is another. If you cannot afford to get the dog look for a different pet because you can't afford to maintain one either. Just ask TorchTheWitch.

I love animals, as long as they're OTHER peoples animals. I don't want a dog. They poop and I have NO desire to pick up after them. I have NO desire to have them get sick in the middle of the night and I step into a surprise in the morning. I had a cat (it belonged to the ex-girlfriend who moved out but left her. I had to care for her). I found her a wonderful home rather than give her to a kill shelter. I got tired of the cacking in the middle of the night, and couldn't stand the cat hair everywhere.
Animals need to be taken care of, by other people. I'll do what I can to help, but don't want one myself.

They're not for everyone, but I will tell you this:
When the entire world turns against you and kicks you down a flight of stairs after robbing you and beating you silly, no matter how beat up you are, your dog(s) still love you unconditionally. The same can't generally be said of people, even close relatives sometimes.
Just something to ponder.

Never doubt that your dogs love you more than your wife.
Just lock them both in the trunk of a car and see which one is happy to see you when you let them out.

What CMD said.
Dogs are a pain in the ass sometimes... when you come home though they are damned excited to see you. Something to be said about that.

And dogs won't run off with someone else and take half your shit either. When they run off... they just run off and never come back. Wives? That is the gift from hell that keeps on giving.
Did I just say that? :bolt:

Hell, my cat is excited to see me when I get home. Even if my wife and daughter get home before me, and our daughter feeds the cat, the cat is happy to see me. :whistling:
